Mingzhu sighed, gently covering him with the quilt and blowing out the lamp before quietly lying down beside him. She felt quite good; today she had managed to express her grievances and resolve the issues peacefully without any quarrels. As for her second brother’s matter, she had decided not to ask Yuwen Chu and to proceed with her own plans unwaveringly.
In the dark, a hand reached out, warm breath brushing against her ear. Mingzhu shivered slightly and whispered, “Your Highness, are you not asleep?”
Yuwen Chu’s hand slid inside her clothes, his lips nibbling on her earlobe as he whispered, “I was asleep, but with a beauty by my side, I woke up again, feeling restless.”
Mingzhu reached down and indeed felt him hot and eager, and she laughed. Yuwen Chu, focused, kissed from her earlobe down to her neck and then to her lips. Sensing her smile, he asked, “What are you laughing at? At its restlessness? After being celibate for so long, it’s no wonder it wants some action.”
Mingzhu continued to laugh, which irritated Yuwen Chu. He bit her chest lightly as punishment, pleased to hear her gasp and curl up. He pressed her flat, not allowing her to escape, and lightly snorted, “Where do you think you’re going? Got the courage of a bear or a leopard?”
Mingzhu pulled his hand away, “No…”
Yuwen Chu raised an eyebrow, “No? Do you want to try something special? Fine, since I owe you, tonight you can do whatever you want. Feel free.” He then laid on his side, giving her full control.
Mingzhu propped her chin with her hand, lying sideways, “You’re dreaming. You’re clearly too tired to move and just pretending to be generous.”
This provoked Yuwen Chu. He fiercely pinned her down, heading straight for his target, “Who says I can’t move? I’ll show you! You’d better beg me now, or you’ll be stuck in bed tomorrow.”
Mingzhu didn’t want to dampen his enthusiasm, but his fervor left her no choice. She whispered in his ear, “Sorry, but I have my you know what.”
Yuwen Chu froze, maintaining his position in silence for a long time.
Mingzhu, having intended to tease him, now worried he might be upset. She tugged at him, softly laughing, “Is Your Highness angry?”
“Mm… I’m indeed angry, very angry. Fu Mingzhu, do you know you’ve caused big trouble?” Yuwen Chu’s voice was low and ominous.
Mingzhu touched her nose, “It was just a joke. Don’t be so petty.”
Yuwen Chu said, “I’ll give you a chance to make amends, or if it suffers now, it might not perform well next time, and you’ll suffer.”
Mingzhu sneered, “So easily affected? Then are you still the Regent?” Dream on. She turned over to continue sleeping, exaggeratedly yawning, “You’ve been away for so long. I couldn’t eat or sleep well, always worrying. Now that you’re back, I can finally sleep soundly. You should rest too.”
Yuwen Chu’s other self had been awakened. How could he sleep? Seeing Mingzhu uncooperative, he grabbed her hand, self-sufficiently rubbing against her. He did everything he could think of, but nearing the end, desperate and uncomfortable, he didn’t know what to do.
Mingzhu’s heart softened. She scolded softly, “Serves you right. Who told you to stay away so long? I can’t help you.”
Yuwen Chu, breathing heavily, pleaded softly, “Please, Zhuzhu, help me.”
Mingzhu sighed, gently embracing him. Yuwen Chu let out a low roar, releasing himself all over her hand and body.
Mingzhu: “…”
Yuwen Chu chuckled softly as Mingzhu grimaced and wiped herself off onto him, “You did that on purpose.”
Yuwen Chu pulled her into his embrace, chuckling, “What scent?”
Mingzhu, feeling embarrassed and angry, replied, “Stinky.”
“That’s good then. Wherever you go, it will be my scent. Let’s see who dares to have any ill intentions towards you,” Yuwen Chu said, feeling refreshed. Though it wasn’t the real deal, it was still pretty good. He felt confident that he would be able to sleep soundly tonight. Indeed, it was very comfortable. When Mingzhu returned after tidying up, he was already asleep, and this time, he was truly asleep. He couldn’t even be woken up by Mingzhu’s nudging.
At dawn, Mingzhu woke up on time, with the light gradually rising. It fell on the person beside her through the green curtain, highlighting Yuwen Chu’s straight nose bridge, long and curly eyelashes, and strong jawline, making him particularly handsome. Mingzhu gently kissed him on the lips and quietly got out of bed.
Yuwen Chu opened his eyes and saw her gracefully stretching in the morning light, as light as a morning sprite. This time he had come back prepared, waiting for her to ask about Fu Mingzhu’s matter. However, she hadn’t asked yet, maintaining her composure. If she wasn’t confident in him, then she must have everything under control. He became curious about what she would do.
Due to her special physical condition, Mingzhu didn’t do much, just a simple stretch before ending her morning exercise. When she was ready to wake Yuwen Chu, she found that he was already awake. She smiled and asked, “Your Highness, did you sleep well last night?”
Yuwen Chu lazily stretched, “Very well.”
Breakfast consisted of coarse grain pancakes and mixed grain porridge, which surprised Yuwen Chu, “Other wives cook delicious food for their husbands, and you give me this?”
Mingzhu wasn’t afraid of him, “I know the food in the palace is greasy. Since you sit around all day, your stomach wouldn’t agree. I know you’ve been wanting to eat this, don’t pretend. Eat up.”
A hint of amusement glinted in Yuwen Chu’s eyes, “Sharing joys and sorrows, you can’t eat anything else.” He gave Mingzhu a pancake. Seeing Mingzhu reluctantly eat it, he leaned over and gently kissed her, “I really like your personality. So far, I haven’t found a woman better or cuter than you.”
“Mm, sweet words,” Mingzhu laughed and glanced at him, “Your Highness must live up to your words.”
They were enjoying their sweet breakfast when Zhou Shuyi arrived. Yuwen Chu set aside his chopsticks and left, returning shortly after with a calm demeanor to continue his meal. Mingzhu felt a bit worried. Zhou Shuyi was always steady, so her coming so early to report meant something serious must have happened. She couldn’t help but say, “Your Highness, if there’s something urgent, you should go first.”
“It’s not urgent. Enjoy your meal,” Yuwen Chu accompanied Mingzhu for breakfast and then went to see their sleeping children before leaving.
Mingzhu asked Su Ju to invite Zhou Shuyi over, “What happened?”
