Liu Yue walked into the building with ease. This was the base research institute, and ordinary people couldn’t enter. She greeted the people in the building familiarly and went into an office on the third floor.
Qi Yue followed Liu Yue into the building. The building was deserted, with few people, mostly people wearing long gowns. She carefully avoided bumping into them, making her way up to the third floor. Liu Yue disappeared in a flash. The long corridor was quiet. Qi Yue searched each room, but many were locked.
Qi Yue’s eyes lit up. He had found it! The office at the very end of the third-floor corridor had its door ajar. Liu Yue was sitting on the sofa, seemingly waiting for someone. She carefully slipped through the crack in the door and stood in an inconspicuous corner of the room.
Liu Yue rested her head on her hand, her eyes tightly closed, her face pale, looking exceptionally pitiful, though her heart was too wicked. Qi Yue thought to himself, not yet satisfied, he directly gathered his spiritual energy and released another lock-on on Liu Yue. One lock-on could lock the mutated creature’s ability for twenty-four hours, the lower the level, the longer the duration, and vice versa if the opponent’s level was high.
Fifteen minutes later, a man of unremarkable appearance, probably around thirty years old, hurriedly walked in and closed the door behind him. “Sorry I’m late, I’ve been very busy with research lately.” He then asked Liu Yue, who was sitting on the sofa, with concern, “Miss Liu, are you sick?”
Liu Yue weakly spoke up: “Dr. Xu, I’m the one who’s bothering you. Could you please help me figure out why I can’t use my special ability all of a sudden?”
The man looked puzzled. “How could this be? Are you too tired?”
“No, it was fine yesterday.”
Qi Yue hid there watching the people in the room fussing around for ages, checking this and that. He got tired of watching and regretted coming. He stood there bored, watching the two of them, yawning.
“What happened to Professor Wu?” Liu Yue asked the man.
“Everything is going smoothly, and we’re entering the final research phase. I’ve backed up all the samples, and we’re just waiting for the results,” the man replied, opening a small box in his drawer for Liu Yue to see.
Qi Yue perked up immediately. Who was this Professor Wu?
Liu Yue glanced at it and nodded in satisfaction. “Don’t give yourself away. You’ll be rewarded after this is done.”
The man flattered, “Yes, thank you for the appreciation, Miss Liu.”
Tsk tsk, what are they trying to do? An experiment, results… it seems Liu Yue is quite shrewd, involved in everything.
Liu Yue and Dr. Xu left one after the other. Qi Yue opened a drawer and took out the small box they had taken earlier. Inside were test tubes of various colors, labeled with English words, but he couldn’t understand what they meant. Qi Yue simply stuffed them all into his pocket. Thinking about it, and fearing discovery, he took out several more test tubes from a nearby cabinet, found those similar in color to the ones in the small box, replaced them, and switched the labels. He put the replaced test tubes back into the small box and returned it to the drawer. With those colorful, unidentifiable things in his pocket, he quietly left.
The food made by a small frying pan with a level-four kitchen spatial ability has an invisibility effect. Qi Yue usually uses it entirely to pan-fry steaks. They taste good and are delicious, and the steaks made not only can conceal the user but can also hide items carried close to the body.
It was completely dark already. Sun Yang and the others had probably gone back long ago. Qi Yue left the building and headed straight home. As he walked, he kept thinking about what had just happened. This Liu Yue, like him, was also reborn so she must know many things he didn’t. He had been reborn so many times; what about Liu Yue? Could she also have been reborn this many times? But why did she kill him in the very first life? That made no sense. He hadn’t done anything out of line.
An experiment, what kind of experiment was it, exactly? He desperately tried to recall what had happened at Base B in the past, but in the end could only give up. Over so many lives, he had lived too miserably and knew nothing about Base B at all. No, he made up his mind to follow Liu Yue and see what this woman was really up to.
There were very few people on the base streets at night. They were in a semi-martial-law state, and from time to time patrols of ability-user squads or soldiers passed through the streets.
After turning a corner and just as he was about to reach his residence, he saw that army-green figure standing at the door, and his scalp immediately went numb. Weren’t they supposed to have left? Why were they back again? They were standing separately on both sides of the courtyard gate, were they lying in wait?
Qi Yue stood in the corner, one hand on the wall, preparing to climb over. Halfway up, he suddenly came to his senses. Why should he be climbing the wall? He hadn’t done anything guilty. Why should he skulk around like he couldn’t be seen? He slid back down and walked over openly.
When he reached the door, he said to Tang Ke, who had his head lowered as if thinking about something, “Why did you come back again?”
Hearing his voice, the corner of Tang Ke’s mouth lifted. “Waiting for you. They said you went to the hospital. I went to look for you but couldn’t find you. I was afraid something had happened to you, so I waited here for you to come back.” Qi Yue was still invisible, so Tang Ke spoke as if talking to himself.
Qi Yue’s heart tightened. Looking at those focused eyes, it felt as if Tang Ke could see him. Qi Yue didn’t know what to say. He pushed the courtyard gate, it wasn’t locked, and opened it directly, lowering his head as he said, “Come in. I have something to say to you.”
Tang Ke grinned and took two quick steps forward. Relying on instinct, he placed his hand directly on Qi Yue’s shoulder and looked at him with a low laugh.
Qi Yue lifted his head and looked at Tang Ke beside him, suddenly feeling very good. He pressed his lips together and didn’t push away the hand resting on his shoulder.
In the living room downstairs, two team members were chatting. After greeting them and learning that Sun Yang and the others had already returned long ago, Qi Yue led Tang Ke back to his room.
“Go on, go on. No need to get up early, tomorrow I’ll cook,” Team Member A joked.
Hearing their teasing, Qi Yue’s face flushed slightly, and he cursed inwardly, What the h*ll are you blushing for?
He opened the door and went in. Tang Ke wrapped his arms around Qi Yue from behind, leaned close to his ear, and said, “I miss you so much. What should I do? When I can’t see you for even a little while, my heart aches from missing you.”
With a bang, Qi Yue’s face burned fiercely. The warm breath against his ear made his body soften. He twisted awkwardly and said, “You’re shameless. You can even say something this cheesy.”
Tang Ke chuckled softly. “Cheesy words are only for you.” He bit down on Qi Yue’s earlobe and murmured, “It hurts down there too. Good Yueyue, help me heal it.”
Qi Yue could barely stand anymore. He had been born unable to refuse, especially when faced with this kind of coquettish tone. The hard object grinding against his hips made him weak in the knees. He leaned against Tang Ke, his breathing growing rapid.
Seeing Qi Yue’s reaction, Tang Ke grew even more impatient. He turned Qi Yue around, pressed his mouth down, and his hands began roaming over Qi Yue’s body.
Qi Yue’s mouth was firmly sealed. A wet tongue followed, skillfully prying open his lips and hooking around his tongue, sucking hard. Tang Ke’s hand stroked betw*en his legs through his pants, and Qi Yue’s aro*sal slowly lifted.
Tang Ke grabbed Qi Yue’s hand and placed it over the already bulg*ng h*rdness beneath his own clothes. He lifted Qi Yue’s shirt and directly took the hard*ned point on his chest into his mouth, sucking with loud wet sounds, satisfied by the excited trembling he felt from the other man.
Qi Yue grabbed Tang Ke’s hand that was reaching inside him and said shakily, “Wait a moment, I have something to tell you.” He lowered his head as he watched Tang Ke release the hard*ned tip on his chest, a low m*an escaping his mouth despite himself.
Tang Ke’s face was filled with desire, his gaze burning hot. Their faces were so close they were almost touching, his body constantly grinding against Qi Yue. “Yueyue, I can’t hold back anymore.”
Qi Yue stammered softly, “Be careful, there’s something in my pocket, don’t break it.” He suddenly remembered the test tubes still in his pocket. His hands trembling, he reached into the pocket of his pants, already unbuckled by Tang Ke, and fumbled to take them out…
