As the sun set, Qi Yue returned to his residence, looking refreshed. Pushing open the door, he saw a group of people sitting in the living room, greeting them with beaming smiles. Almost everyone was there; the otherwise spacious living room was packed with people. Tang Ke, Lin Yuze, Yan Bin, and even Dazhuang’s best friend Little Fan were there. What was the occasion? How did these seemingly unrelated people get together?
He went straight into the kitchen, where Sun Yang was. After a period of treatment with his special abilities and medication, his illness had improved significantly, and he should be fully recovered after a few more intensive treatments.
In the post-apocalyptic world, the physical constitution and abilities of those with superpowers have undergone an astonishing leap, even enabling them to overcome previously intractable diseases. Of course, not everyone has the means to be treated by someone with superpowers, as their energy is limited.
Qi Yue took out large pieces of pork, beef, and mutton from the kitchen. Since there were many people, he brought out large pieces to provide an extra meal. Meat was common in the settlement; as long as you had the courage, there were plenty of mutated animals waiting to be hunted on the grasslands. Although the standard of living had improved since arriving at Base B, the food wasn’t as good as before; at least, the days when others cooked, they rarely ate meat.
Considering they were all grown men, Qi Yue kneaded a large bowl of dough and set it aside to rest, preparing to make layered meat patties. He then busied herself with other dishes, such as spicy bandit duck, New Orleans roasted ribs, braised pork belly with mushrooms and bamboo shoots, and fragrant dry-sauce pork, all of which were new dishes that made one’s mouth water just looking at them.
Looking up, he saw Tang Ke standing in the doorway, staring intently at him. While rolling out the dough, he said, “Take the dishes out; I’ll just stir-fry a couple more vegetables later.” Without realizing it himself, he casually asked, “By the way, what do you want to eat? I’ll make it for you.”
Tang Ke chuckled, picked up two plates of food with both hands, and whispered in Qi Yue’s ear, “I love anything you make.”
Turning his head, he watched Tang Ke walk out with the vegetables in his hand. What usually seemed like a joke made Qi Yue feel very comfortable at this moment, and the corners of his mouth were tightly pursed and turned up.
There were many people. Tang Ke, Lin Yuze, and Yan Bin all brought people outside. The food prepared was enough for two tables and there was still some left. Tang Ke acted as a waiter and ran back and forth several times to bring out the dishes.
Qi Yue lowered his head and rolled the dough into a large sheet, carefully spreading meat filling on it. His expression was like that of someone making a work of art, which was pleasing to the eye.
Yan Bin stood in the kitchen doorway, watching the person inside intently slicing noodles with a knife, using the faint light from outside. Only he knew how much self-control he had to suppress the urge to rush forward and embrace the person before him. He didn’t dare, yes, he didn’t dare. He was afraid of frightening Qi Yue, afraid of scaring him away. Afraid that he would disappear like before. When did it begin? The longing was so intense, even though they had never crossed paths before.
Sensing someone behind him, assuming it was Tang Ke, Qi Yue’s voice rang out: “Thank you for helping me find someone to deal with Feng Zhe. I saw that boy; he’s really heartbreaking.” He muttered about trivial matters. His hands continued working, rolling up one piece and then starting to roll out the next.
“Did you hear everything I just said?” After finishing his sentence, he realized the person behind him hadn’t said a word. Turning around to look at the door, he was surprised to see him standing there. A wave of embarrassment washed over him; he’d been talking to the wrong person all along.
“Yes, I heard you.”
Startled, he was surprised that the other person actually answered. A long silence followed until Qi Yue finished rolling up the last piece, placed it in the pan, and prepared to cook it. Seeing that the person who hadn’t hesitated showed no sign of moving, he stammered, “Um, hey, are you hungry? This is all that’s left. You guys eat first, I’ll bring it over later.” Without looking at the other person, he continued to examine the pancakes in the pan.
Yan Bin’s angular face showed no emotion as he strode over.
Qi Yue looked down at the pancakes in the pan, carefully flipping them until both sides were golden brown. When he looked up, he was surprised to see Yan Bin standing beside him, face to face. Startled, Qi Yue’s hand trembled. A pair of large hands touched his face, his thumbs rubbing vigorously a few times before he lowered them with satisfaction. Without a word, he left.
His mouth was half-open, staring incredulously at the door; the person was already gone. He patted his chest, cursing inwardly for his racing heart; his face was so dirty, no one could bear to look at him. Yet, he couldn’t help but relive the moment, was Yan smiling? Distracted, he went to two tables. One was in the living room, where the team members living downstairs and the henchmen of the various bosses sat. Qi Yue carried over freshly baked pancakes, and the people there had already started eating, unable to contain their excitement. Seeing more food on the table, they didn’t care about the heat and stuffed it into their mouths. Amidst the rising and falling praises, Qi Yue’s satisfaction increased greatly. He loved letting others eat the delicious food he made; it felt even better than eating it himself.
Another table was set up in the dining room, filled with familiar faces. Although some of them still disliked each other, it didn’t dampen their enthusiasm for the delicious food. The colors and flavors of all the dishes on the table made their stomachs rumble in protest. As soon as they entered, Dazhuang rushed over, took the bowl from Qi Yue’s hands, and pulled him to sit down. This was a seat left over by someone; it faced Yan Bin, with Tang Ke to his left and Lin Yuze to his right.
Everyone was present, and there was still some conversation to be had, but with such delicious food in front of them, they decided to eat and talk at the same time. It practically turned into a mini gathering of people with superpowers. Someone had contributed a few bottles of wine, and with food and drinks, and everyone being young people of similar age, the atmosphere was quite pleasant. Apart from the quiet, withdrawn Lin Yuze and the seemingly reserved but actually flirtatious Yan Bin across from them, everyone else was quite talkative, Qi Yue thought to himself.
Oak, holding his wine glass, offered a toast—tsk tsk, his demeanor was comparable to that of a true Chinese. “Wishing us a pleasant cooperation!”
“Huh, what’s with that?” As if knowing Qi Yue’s doubts, Yan Bin said, “The superpowered individuals from each base will be organized by Base B to conduct a joint operation.”
Upon hearing this, Qi Yue suddenly looked up at the other person, then turned his gaze to Tang Ke, silently asking.
As if knowing Qi Yue’s question, Tang Ke nodded at him, “We need to lure the zombie horde to other places before it reaches base M. The chosen target is Territory Village, which is surrounded by mountains on three sides. We will lure the zombies in and then blow up the entrance.”
“Then how do we leave?” Qi Yue couldn’t help but ask.
“A helicopter. People have already been sent there and will build a wall around the village in a short time.”
Tang Ke, representing the military, explained a series of detailed arrangements, each seemingly meticulously planned and flawlessly executed. Otherwise, the ever-cunning Yan Bin wouldn’t have agreed. This was a do-or-die situation; if the zombie horde continued to spread, it would only grow larger, drawing in more zombies from various locations. At that point, not only Base M, but the entirety of China would be in danger.
“Alright, stop thinking about those worrying things and focus on solving our immediate hunger crisis.” Dazhuang couldn’t hold back any longer.
The others echoed his sentiment. In the apocalypse, it was common for people with superpowers to fight. What was truly terrifying wasn’t the zombies, but rather living without the will to fight, like he had been before. He would definitely strive to survive, not only himself, but also to help those around him live.
Relieved and not thinking about anything else, Qi Yue smiled and said, “Eat up, everyone! There’s plenty of food. I’m just worried you won’t be able to finish it all.” He then piled a large stalk of greens into Dazhuang’s bowl. He watched with amusement as Dazhuang’s face fell; this guy didn’t like greens and couldn’t live without meat.
The atmosphere became lively again, continuing until late at night, with everyone having drunk a bit too much. After seeing Yan Bin off and dismissing the others, Qi Yue took charge of cleaning up the mess. He didn’t trust those clumsy people to collect the dishes.
Everyone who came had left, except for two shameless individuals who, after dismissing their lackeys, lingered and refused to leave. Tang Ke rubbed against Qi Yue’s back, his meaning clear. This guy, he’s really something else. Lin Yuze sat on the sofa, quietly sipping his tea.
“Okay, Yueyue, I’m sleepy. Let’s pack these up tomorrow. Let’s go to sleep first.” Tang Ke’s eyes lit up.
“If you’re sleepy, go back to sleep. I’m not sleepy.” Qi Yue remained unmoved and continued tidying up. He couldn’t sleep peacefully with everything so messy here. Fortunately, the people outside were considerate; after eating, they cleaned up neatly, even washing the dishes and returning them to their original places. He was very satisfied, unaware that the people outside were trying to leave him a good impression so they could come back for a free meal in the future.
Knowing Qi Yue’s temperament well, Tang Ke could only helplessly take on the role of waiter, cleaning, sweeping, and wiping tables. While Qi Yue was washing dishes, Tang Ke quickly took a shower, then sat down next to Qi Yue and watched. Finally, Qi Yue put down the last bowl, stood up, and before he could even straighten his back, Tang Ke, who had been waiting for a long time, picked him up.
“F*ck.” Qi Yue cursed.
Tang Ke didn’t care at all as he carried the person upstairs, saying, “I knew you were getting impatient. Just bear with it a little longer, and your older brother will come and f*ck you right away.”
Seeing how eager the other person was, Qi Yue didn’t want to be coy anymore. It had happened more than once, and he had enjoyed it during the act anyway, so he decided to let things take their course.
Upon entering the room, Qi Yue was roughly thrown onto the bed by Tang Ke, and he couldn’t help but curse, “You f*cking be gentle!”
Tang Ke immediately pressed down on him, saying, “How can I make you feel good if I’m too gentle?” He grabbed Qi Yue’s hand and pressed it down to his cr*tch, saying, “I can wait, but my little brother Tang can’t wait any longer.” As he spoke, he started tearing off Qi Yue’s clothes.
“Let me take a shower first, ooh,” Qi Yue pushed Tang Ke’s mouth away forcefully, “Ugh, I’m all sweaty.”
“Wash after you’re done, otherwise it’ll be a waste of time.” Tang Ke reached out and turned Qi Yue’s face, biting his lower lip to force him to open his mouth.
Before long, both of them were panting. Tang Ke pulled open Qi Yue’s clothes and eagerly got to the point.
“D*mn it, where’s your manners? Why do you always tear things like that?” Qi Yue muttered in dissatisfaction, his narrow, almond-shaped eyes half-closed as he glanced at Tang Ke on top of him.
Seeing Qi Yue like this, Tang Ke’s p*nis became even larger, and his movements became even rougher, causing both of them to involuntarily groan.
“Yueyue, you’re squeezing me so tightly, it hurts!”
“Shut up, don’t, don’t poke there!” Qi Yue’s voice went off-key after being hit at a sensitive spot.
“Is this it?” Tang Ke became even more excited and pounded on that spot with all his might.
“Go to h*ll! Stop it, f*cking do that!”
“How about I die in your cave?”
Lin Yuze dried his hair with a bath towel, standing by the bed watching the two people rolling around in bed. Qi Yue’s room wasn’t very big, but it had a separate bathroom, which was very convenient.
With a muffled groan, Little Brother Tang spat out saliva. The person on top of him continued talking: “Yueyue, your little mouth down there is thirsty, let older brother feed you water.”
D*mn, this shameless b*stard. Qi Yue lay weakly on the bed, panting heavily, his eyes glancing at Tang Ke to express his dissatisfaction.
Looking at Qi Yue’s face, flushed with desire, beneath him, Tang Ke couldn’t help but lower his head again and give him a quick thr*st. He then withdrew his engorged p*nis.
Lin Yuze’s dark eyes flickered. He tossed aside the towel, got into bed, picked up the still somewhat dazed Qi Yue, and carried him into the bathroom. A short while later, Qi Yue’s alluring moans echoed from inside the bathroom.
Tang Ke leaned against the bed, exhaling smoke rings. He couldn’t let go of anyone, nor could he give them up. This wasn’t so bad. He put the cigarette between his fingers to his lips, took a deep drag, and then stubbed it out in the ashtray beside him. Nak3d, he walked into the bathroom. Little Brother Tang wanted water again.
