“Forget it,” Lin Zhaohe removed his reading glasses. “Stay away from me…”

Zhou Ze looked at Lin Zhaohe. “You…”

With tears in his eyes, Lin Zhaohe said, “I’m afraid of blinding your eyes.”

Zhou Ze anticipated what would happen next.

The human bottom line, indeed, gradually lowered, step by step. Once there was a first time, there would be a second time, and once there was a third time, there would be countless more. Lin Zhaohe’s resilient heart was filled with cracks.

“Yellow Banana Girl transformation!” accompanied by an unknown sound effect that appeared out of nowhere, a burst of yellow light illuminated the scene, and Yellow Banana Girl once again made a dazzling entrance.

If there were bullet comments floating above their heads, they would surely consist of elongated ellipses.

“Sister Yun, I won’t let you harm them!” Holding his own magic wand like an iron rod, Lin Zhaohe shouted, “Even if there are Strawberry fans inside, it’s not allowed!”

Zhou Ze: “…” Brother Lin, you really care about this matter.

After roaring, Lin Zhaohe charged towards Yun Yuzi!

Magical Girl vs Serial Killer, Round 1.

Yun Yuzi halted her steps, seemingly stunned by Lin Zhaohe’s sudden transformation. As Lin Zhaohe sprinted forward, she regained her composure and tightly gripped the handle of her axe, swinging it towards him.

Although Joseph had great strength, he was slow in his movements. However, Yun Yuzi didn’t possess this weakness. Holding the axe, she displayed the agility of a monkey, leaping forward and charging towards Lin Zhaohe.

Lin Zhaohe had long prepared for this moment. With a loud shout, he exclaimed, “Freezing Flash!” It was a carefully selected magic spell that could temporarily immobilize the monsters without causing harm to them. Lin Zhaohe didn’t want to wear the rabbit mask himself.

A flash of light swiftly shot out from his magic wand, causing Yun Yuzi to pause. She was genuinely affected, frozen in place as if she had been immobilized.

Lin Zhaohe didn’t dare to pause. He used the Freezing Flash several more times, ensuring that Yun Yuzi couldn’t move before finally catching his breath. Using the Freezing Flash was quite exhausting.

In this round, the magical girl narrowly emerged victorious!

Lin Zhaohe gasped for breath and spat on the ground.

Scattered applause arose from behind as the crowd applauded him. They had intended to offer words of encouragement to the righteous warrior, but when the magical girl turned around, her beautiful face was filled with gloom. “You didn’t see anything, did you?”

The children immediately shook their heads incessantly, feeling as if they had been slow to deny and feared being silenced on the spot.

Meanwhile, a group of murderers gradually surrounded them. However, the Lin Zhaohe standing there was no longer the same as before. Holding his magic wand, his expression was grim, resembling more of a cold-blooded killer than Joseph himself. The children around him dared not cheer for him anymore, silently standing behind and observing.

If it came to a fight, Lin Zhaohe would surely be able to take down these Josephs. However, considering the restrictions of the third rule, he didn’t dare to act. If he also turned into a murderer, the remaining children would have no chance of escape. Contemplating this, he turned and glanced at the children.

His gaze sent a shiver down Zhou Ze’s spine, and he said, “Brother Lin… We didn’t see anything!”

Lin Zhaohe: “I didn’t say that.”

Zhou Ze: “Then what do you mean?”

Lin Zhaohe: “Didn’t you see all those things surrounding us? Run, quick!”

Zhou Ze: “Oh, okay.”

Only then did the children realize the situation and dashed towards the direction pointed out by Lin Zhaohe.

They ran ahead while Lin Zhaohe, with an expressionless face, trailed behind, using his Freezing Flash to eliminate the pursuing Josephs.

“Freezing Flash!” Another blast of freezing light erupted. Lin Zhaohe heard a notification sound coming from an unknown source, announcing that the Freezing Flash had reached level 2. Instantly, he became furious. “Level up? Screw that! I will never transform again in my entire life!”

As they ran, the others occasionally glanced back, observing his volatile temperament. They had likely never witnessed such an irritable magical girl before.

Only Zhou Ze, who lacked insight, continued to smile and say, “Why was Yellow Banana Girl’s role cut? The director really has no vision.”

Lin Zhaohe: “…You don’t have to keep reminding me that my role was cut, thank you.”

Jiang Guan protected Jiang Nan while dealing with the approaching Josephs.

“Sister, they seem to have mutated,” Jiang Nan woke up from the sound of tearing paper and opened his eyes, realizing that things had taken a turn for the worse. “The third page of the diary was discovered…”

“It’s fine,” Jiang Guan said calmly, “I’ve played this game before. They have a few weaknesses, so it’s okay.” With a practiced motion, she loaded a bullet into her gun with one hand. “Just lean back a bit.”

Jiang Nan obediently complied.

After a few attempts, Jiang Guan found the weak spot on the back of the Josephs’ necks. With her powerful hunting rifle, she effortlessly dispatched them. The ruptured bodies of the Josephs left bloodstains on Jiang Guan’s skirt. She fired one shot after another, as if crushing insects.

However, Jiang Nan felt something was strangely off. She watched Jiang Guan’s back and whispered softly, “Sister, why do they have a strange black light on them… Can you see it?”

Jiang Guan ignored her.

This was an impossible situation, and Jiang Nan knew it. No matter the circumstances, whenever she called out to her sister, Jiang Guan would always respond.

“Sister? Are you okay?” Jiang Nan called out again.

Jiang Guan killed the last Joseph, finally coming to a halt. She slowly turned her head, expressionless, and looked at Jiang Nan.

The gaze was incredibly unfamiliar, not like the gaze towards her beloved younger sister, but rather like looking at lifeless flesh.

Jiang Nan was startled by Jiang Guan’s gaze and couldn’t help but take a step back. “Sister? What’s wrong with you?”

Jiang Guan didn’t answer. She crouched down slowly, and just as Jiang Nan was pondering what she was about to do, she saw Jiang Guan’s hand press down on one of the Josephs’ discarded rabbit masks on the ground. Then, disregarding the dirt, she put it on her face and tossed away the hunting rifle in her hand, grabbing the axe handle instead.

This scene was too horrifying, and Jiang Nan was terrified. She called out, “Sister, sister, what are you doing with that… Sister, don’t scare me!”

Jiang Guan remained silent. She slowly stood up, holding the axe. The dried blood on the blade had formed a dark reddish stain. Her eyes, obscured by the mask, stared at Jiang Nan, devoid of the previous gentleness, now resembling a cold and ruthless hunting beast.

Jiang Nan finally realized that something was terribly wrong. She turned around and ran, immediately hearing footsteps behind her—Jiang Guan was chasing after her.

“Sister!! Sister!!” Jiang Nan cried out while sobbing. She dared not stop her movements, knowing she heard the sound of the axe swinging behind her. She was acutely aware that if she slowed down even for a moment, Jiang Guan’s axe would cleave through half of her skull…

The chase continued for a while, and Jiang Nan’s energy was quickly depleted. Panting heavily, she cried and ran. The pursuer behind her showed no signs of giving up. Finally, as she stumbled, Jiang Nan fell to the ground.

She turned around and saw Jiang Guan running towards her from not far away. Helplessly, she wailed again—she still held the gun Jiang Guan had given her for self-defense. If she aimed the gun at Jiang Guan and fired now, it might temporarily impede her actions.

However, how could Jiang Nan bear to do that? The one person in this world she could never harm was Jiang Guan.

Setting down the weapon in her hand, Jiang Nan made the decision to give up. Tears streaming down her face, she watched as Jiang Guan approached her, raising the axe…

“Sister,” Jiang Nan slowly closed her eyes.

The sound of a blade cutting through the air reached her ears, but the anticipated pain didn’t follow. Jiang Nan waited for a while, but the axe didn’t come down on her. Carefully, she opened her eyes. “Sister?”

Instead of wielding the axe, Jiang Guan lay on the ground. Standing by her side was a man. Jiang Nan remembered his face—it was the person Jiang Guan had hired for this game. If she remembered correctly, his name should be Zhuang Lao.

“Are you okay?” Zhuang Lao asked.

“I… I’m fine. What happened to my sister?” Jiang Nan hurriedly leaned over Jiang Guan’s body, checking if she was alright.

“She’s fine, just fainted,” Zhuang Lao said. “You should have fired the gun.”

“I can’t shoot!” Jiang Nan disagreed. “Even if it means letting my sister kill me, I won’t shoot her!”

“But if you shoot her, you’ll turn into a Joseph too, and then she won’t attack you,” Zhuang Lao blinked.

Jiang Nan was momentarily speechless—she hadn’t considered that perspective before.

After taking a short break, Jiang Nan stood up and approached Jiang Guan. She wanted to remove the rabbit mask from her face, but no matter how hard she tried, it seemed stuck to Jiang Guan’s face, unmoving and resistant to her efforts.

“Let’s not worry about your sister for now,” Zhuang Lao asked, “Do you have any other leads?”

“Qin Xu brought back a map,” Jiang Nan wiped away her tears. Her thoughts were relatively clear. She rummaged through Jiang Guan’s pocket and retrieved an item, handing it to Zhuang Lao.

Zhuang Lao glanced at the map. “Let’s meet up at the starting point first. I made arrangements with the others.”

“Alright…” Jiang Nan nodded, “But… what about my sister?”

Zhuang Lao replied, “We’ll just drag her along.” He showed no intention of helping Jiang Nan, merely observing from the sidelines.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Nan quickly pulled out a rope and cloth from her backpack. She constructed a simple stretcher and securely bound Jiang Guan before placing her on it to be dragged. Her handiwork was decent, suggesting some experience in wilderness survival.

Suddenly, Zhuang Lao asked, “Do you think your sister would really kill you?”

Jiang Nan paused in her actions. “What do you mean?”

Zhuang Lao shrugged. “No particular meaning… just a casually asking.”
