After Transmigrating into a Book, I Became the Strongest Omega Chapter 52

Chapter 52: Doctor’s Revenge

Qin Yi was chased out by Li Sheng. He stood in the corridor with a displeased face, and Qin Yu stood next to him, not daring to say a word, afraid that his brother would suddenly remember that he brought Dong Du here.

However, fortunately, his brother had no intention of blaming him. After blowing the cold wind in the corridor for a while and dispersing his pheromones, Qin Yi went to the banquet to socialize.

Inside the room at this time, Li Sheng popped his head out of the quilt to receive Dong Du’s blessings, and then invited Dong Du to lie down with him. “Why did you come over suddenly?”

“I originally planned to go back to sleep, but I met Qin Yu, and I remembered that I hadn’t talked to you today.” Dong Du laid on the edge of the bed. “Li Sheng, happy honeymoon. What were you two doing just now?”

Any normal omega would have a reaction when smelling such a strong alpha pheromone, but Dong Du had no reaction at all. He even asked quite naively. Li Sheng stared at him for a while before confirming, “You can’t feel pheromones at all, can you?”

“I can smell them.” Dong Du looked confused, “Back in the research institute, the doctor diagnosed me with pheromone disorder, but I can still smell them.”

“Can you tell the difference in pheromones at different times?” Li Sheng sat up, looking at him with concern, “You can smell them, but you don’t know if the pheromones he’s emitting right now represent anger, happiness, or something else. Dong Du, you can’t feel pheromones at all, and even when the pheromones are not strong, you can’t smell them. This is not just a simple pheromone disorder, is it?”

“It seems to be the case.” Dong Du thought carefully, realizing that he indeed didn’t know the messages conveyed by pheromones. He didn’t even understand what his own pheromones were expressing.

“This is not good.” Li Sheng sighed with concern. “If you have a partner in the future, you won’t feel their pheromones. It will be painful during bonding, and you won’t experience comfort.”

Dong Du listened to Li Sheng’s words with a confused expression, but he didn’t care much about it. He turned around and sat on the edge of the bed, saying, “Let’s talk about these things later. When Qin Yi comes back and sees that I’m still here, he will definitely be unhappy. I better go back now.”

“Wait.” Li Sheng looked at him seriously. “Wait a moment and try smelling Prime Minister’s pheromones when you go back.”

Smelling someone, that’s kind of weird.

Dong Du’s face flushed a bit. “Why would I smell his pheromones?”

“He asked me to throw the bouquet to you, Dong Du.” Li Sheng smiled cunningly. “Just go and give it a try.”

Dong Du returned to the tower. Although his head was still a bit dizzy, he couldn’t fall asleep. The phrase Li Sheng said kept repeating in his mind – “go smell his pheromones,” like a spell.

The banquet should have ended by now. The lights outside the tall tower were bright, and Dong Du decided to get up and sit by the window. His window had recently been fitted with new glass, made with the latest technology, and was not easily breakable.

He really wanted to go out, so he instructed Raptor to lock the door. If he had insisted on going out tonight, and it absolutely couldn’t be opened.

The small robot dutifully followed its master’s orders, faithfully loyal, with no intention of opening the door for Dong Du to go out. However, despite not planning to let him out, someone knocked on the door.

Since the master didn’t say not to let others in, after Raptor checked who the visitor was, it opened Dong Du’s door.

Standing at the door were three people: Novisane, Zhu Di, and the disgruntled Meng Ruan. He felt that the general and the Prime Minister were targeting him.

Although everyone was a rival in love, these two always seemed to glare at him! Dong Du’s room was not lit, and the massive floor-to-ceiling window brought in the lights from outside. Dong Du by the window was just a silhouette, sitting still until he smelled the aroma of food.

“Come over and eat.” Novisane called out to him, then instructed Raptor to turn on the lights.

As the room lit up, everyone’s dishes became clear. Novisane and Zhu Di had similar items, all meat and rice, but Meng Ruan was different. He had brought small cakes and fruit juice, knowing that Dong Du liked them today.

Dong Du seemed oblivious to what Meng Ruan had brought and headed straight for two bowls of rice and meat. Meng Ruan’s head buzzed. Dong Du had lunch in the afternoon; shouldn’t he just have some light snacks for dinner?

However, Meng Ruan didn’t know that Dong Du was willing to eat regular meals every time, even if he had six meals a day.

After finishing a bowl of rice, Dong Du suddenly had a bright idea. His eating pace slowed down as he contemplated the feasibility of his idea. With a sense of ease, he said, “Novisane, how about releasing your pheromones for me to smell?”

When two people are alone, smelling someone else might be considered strange, but with so many people around, Dong Du was openly asking for it. As long as it was done openly, it wouldn’t be considered strange.

If it were just the two of them, Novisane would likely be willing. However, with others present, the three alphas were confused. Novisane, who never felt awkward, asked hesitantly, “Why?”

“Don’t ask questions, just say whether you’ll let me smell it or not.” Dong Du put down his empty bowl and sipped on his juice, looking indifferent and content.

Novisane still hesitated, and Meng Ruan unbuttoned his collar, saying, “If he won’t, I’ll let you smell mine.”

He actually released his pheromones. A faint floral scent gradually filled the room. Dong Du sniffed but surprisingly couldn’t smell anything. Meng Ruan’s personality was too soft, as Li Sheng had mentioned, the type that Dong Du couldn’t detect.

Novisane refrained from releasing his pheromones, and with Dong Du being unable to smell Meng Ruan’s, he felt that his plan was futile. Feeling embarrassed, he ushered the three out. Zhu Di didn’t say anything, but Meng Ruan looked like a frostbitten eggplant.

He muttered to himself, feeling resigned. “His Highness has no reaction to my pheromones. We’re so close, yet he has no reaction. This doesn’t make sense. Could he not like me anymore?”

No one responded to his muttering, and Raptor had dutifully locked the door.

As the clock ticked away, Dong Du still couldn’t sleep. A soft knock on the door sounded, and after receiving Dong Du’s approval, Raptor opened the door once again.

Novisane returned, sitting beside Dong Du. “Now there’s no one in your room. I think it’s a reasonable time to make your request.”

“What request?” Dong Du seemed devoid of worldly desires.

Novisane chuckled, turning to expose his neck to Dong Du’s nose. “Little peach, didn’t you want to smell my pheromones?”

In an instant, Dong Du seemed intoxicated. The woody, clear fragrance invaded his lungs. He quickly moved backward, hitting the edge of the bed with a bang. His face turned red, and he breathed heavily. “Put, put it away!”

He could smell this guy’s pheromones, and in an instant, he understood the message it conveyed—direct, damp, and hot desire.

“Scared?” Novisane sat cross-legged by the window, not approaching or retreating. He said, “If you’re scared, don’t make those suggestive requests to me in the future.”

Dong Du mumbled under his breath, “Pah, I’m not scared.”

He spoke quietly, as if afraid Novisane would hear.

Afraid that staying longer might make it hard to control himself, Novisane quickly stood up to leave. When he reached the door, he couldn’t help but remind, “In the future, don’t make such requests to others.”

Dong Du remained silent, blaming Li Sheng for planting this curse on him. He wouldn’t have made such a request otherwise!

Having spent a night in steamy dreams, Dong Du entered the meeting room the next day with heavy dark circles under his eyes, drifting like a ghost.

The meeting room was already full. After a brief opening statement, the accountant reported on the crowdfunding. They had raised several billion in funds at Qin’s wedding yesterday, half of which had been allocated to the research institute for the expenses related to studying the queen, and the other half as supplies for frontline warriors.

Led by Zhu Di, they had to set out again to observe the situation in the wandering city, to prevent any unexpected actions from the insect race that lost their queen. Meanwhile, with General Tang Wencen no longer in command, Novisane would personally go.

If General Tang Wencen had still been in command, Novisane wouldn’t have needed to go to the frontline.

The highest ruler of Yars was Brovill, and although he was only a symbol, he was the backbone of Yars’ population. As long as the bishop was present, Yars’ spirit would endure. After this meeting, he would immediately return to Yars to stabilize the public sentiment.

Before leaving, Brovill and Novisane exchanged a few words privately and left Fina by Novisane’s side.

After the meeting, there was a short but seemingly endless preparation time. Typical alpha soldiers would use this time to visit their families and friends, but Dong Du had nothing particular to do.

He and Raptor wandered aimlessly near the small hills around the high tower. Passing through a few cypress trees, they saw Xu Yiling standing alone in front of a tombstone.

This place was the graveyard for high tower soldiers who died in the line of duty, and all were attending to the solemn duty of remembrance.

The soldiers were buried here, and Xu Yiling had placed a ceremonial robe for Cui Ningfang there.

Dong Du didn’t know why, but he subconsciously stopped, not wanting to disturb Xu Yiling’s tranquility. However, Xu Yiling noticed him. Facing his gaze, she walked over, and like her, his eyes fell on the tombstone.

He had nothing to say, but Xu Yiling seemed less burdened. There was even a hint of a smile on her lips. “We’ve been studying the queen all night these days, Your Highness. Do you know, the queen has no defects at all? She can’t even be killed.”

She paused for a moment and continued, “Ningfang was a Beta. At first, my parents didn’t approve of our relationship. Not only was he a Beta, but he was also just an assistant. They felt he wasn’t worthy of me. I almost gave up on our relationship, but he insisted. He’s excellent, and now my parents think I’m not worthy of him…. If it weren’t for me, he wouldn’t have stayed as an assistant at the institute.”

Dong Du could only respond with a soft “en.” His mind was frantically searching, wanting to comfort and persuade, but everything was in vain. He couldn’t find anything, couldn’t say anything.

“Your Highness, I will definitely figure it out—the method to exterminate the insect race. After all, this race was born for invasion. It’s only right to eradicate them. I can do anything. I am the most outstanding doctor in Clos.” At this moment, Xu Yiling suddenly revealed a hint of madness. She remained calm, but beneath the surface, there were turbulent waves. She said, “This is my revenge.”
