Next Day Business Trip
Ye Mu woke up early and drove a private car at eight o’clock to wait at his boss’s home downstairs.
The neighborhood’s greenery was good. Along the road, the camphor trees were tall and full, almost covering the sky. In winter, the sunlight rained down between the trees, which made them feel extraordinarily beautiful.
Ye Mu squinted his eyes and appreciated it for a while, waiting quietly in the car.
Half an hour later, a handsome young man covering half of his swollen face entered the vehicle.
Ye Mu turned his head to look and realized that this man was Chen Mo.
From the clear red handprints on his face, it wasn’t hard to guess that this was someone who had been slapped last night.
Chen Mo noticed his line of sight, raised his chin, and said hostilely, “Drive!”
Ye Mu lowered his head, turned the key ring, and drove the car out before faintly asking: “ A woman hit you?”
Chen Mo’s expression was angry and full of dislike, “I don’t give a sh*t about you.”
Ye Mu didn’t say anything and smiled helplessly. –This temper can’t be helped.
Lightly stepping on the gas, he drove the car out of the neighbourhood and all the way to the airport.
The traffic on a working day was not too congested, and the two arrived not long after.
What happened next didn’t go so well.
When checking in with their passports and airplane tickets, the counter agent had a somewhat apologetic expression.
“I’m sorry, sir, the flight to Uruk has been rescheduled for an hour and a half later. You can choose to refund your ticket or agree to change the flight.”
“Change the flight.” Chen Mo said.
“Okay, this is the ticket for both of you. Please also take it.”
Ye Mu took the two tickets and said to Chen Mo, “I’ll go for the check-in.”
Chen Mo nodded lightly and turned towards the lounge.
After sitting for about half an hour, Ye Mu returned.
With a bag of ice wrapped in a towel.
Chen Mo raised his eyebrows slightly.
Ye Mu directly handed it over and said slowly, “Try putting it on and see if it can reduce the swelling.”
Chen Mo took it and said sarcastically, “This ass-kissing is not bad.”
Ye Mu knew his boss had a bad mouth, and he didn’t refute it. He took the ticket and sat down on the side. “I heard Sister Liu say that you cancelled the project in Yunnan.”
Chen Mo made a faint “hmm” sound. His handsome face was filled with dislike, “A three hundred million dollar project is too small; there’s no reason not to cancel it.”
Ye Mu lowered his eyes, “If possible, I hope you can reconsider; ALPHA has just gone public and needs this project to stabilize its position in the industry.”
Chen Mo’s face was cold, “I’ve already made my decision.”
Ye Mu did not force the issue and ended the topic wisely.
When half an hour remained before the flight took off, the two of them got up and walked towards the security check.
I don’t know if it was a coincidence, but while standing in line, Chen Mo met his girlfriend.
To be precise, it was his ex-girlfriend whom he broke up with only last month.
The girlfriend also saw him but pretended to turn a blind eye as if she saw a stranger.
Chen Mo was also indifferent. After the security check, he did not look at her again.
After boarding the plane and taking his seat, he opened the document folder and gave Ye Mu some information.
Ye Mu took it, found that it was a specific plan for this Uruk project, and began to read it carefully.
Some of the people on the plane chose to take a nap, and the atmosphere was relatively quiet as they closed their eyes.
Not long after, there was the sound of a prompt from the cabin that required passengers to turn off their cell phones and fasten their seatbelts.
Chen Mo expressionlessly followed the instructions and glanced over before realizing that his ex-girlfriend happened to be sitting in the seat next to him.
His ex-girlfriend, who was leisurely clipping her fingernails and lowering her long eyelashes, suddenly opened her mouth coldly, “I say Chen Mo, have you ever liked me or not?”
Chen Mo’s cold face stared straight ahead while spitting out words, “We broke up, and yet you’re still asking about this?”
The girlfriend spread her hands, “Just curious.”
Chen Mo’s voice had a little rise and fall, “Curious about what?”
His ex-girlfriend’s eyes were slightly raised, “Nothing, I just think that you are actually quite inattentive when you are doing that. Our hospital has been studying this recently, and I have synthesized all your metrics and found that there should be no problem with you.”
Chen Mo seemed unwilling to talk about this topic. He just responded coldly and said nothing after that.
His ex-girlfriend, however, was emboldened. Looking at him with a beautiful smile as she turned sideways and supported her chin, she said, “Now that I think about it, maybe it’s just that you don’t like me enough.”
Chen Mo lazily ignored her and turned his gaze to look out the window.
His ex-girlfriend narrowed her eyes, her thick eyelashes catching together, “You were with me in the first place because you saw my figure, right?”
Chen Mo swallowed the knot in his throat and said with a stern face, “I don’t want to talk about this anymore.”
His ex-girlfriend grunted and continued clipping her nails, condescendingly saying, “You think I want to talk about it? It’s also just a matter of being angry.”
Chen Mo was silent, after a while, thin lips spit out the words: “No matter what, it is you who dumped me.”
His ex-girlfriend pursed her lips. Just as she wanted to say something, she was interrupted by a flight attendant who came over from the side. “Miss, the plane is going to take off; please fasten your seat belt, okay?”
“And your tools, please put them away as well; it’s highly likely that you’ll injure other passengers during takeoff.”
Having been told so, she could only follow the rules.
The flight attendant saw that the passenger obediently did as she was told and no longer made things difficult for her, and began to go elsewhere to conduct inspections.
When she once again inclined her head to speak to Chen Mo, the other party had already closed his eyes, obviously not wanting to talk to her anymore.
His ex-girlfriend snorted coldly and didn’t want to pay any more attention to it, so she put on the eye mask and rested along with him.
Not more than a few minutes later, the plane took off.
When the plane first lifted off, the air pressure was still a bit high, the vibration was a bit strong, and many of the passengers felt a bit uncomfortable, but in the end, it stabilized.
The flight to Uruk lasted for six hours, but when it reached mid-way, the cabin suddenly began to shake violently.
Many sleeping passengers in the cabin were awakened, and some even started screaming.
The flight attendants tried to contact the captain, but the communication signal was not very good, and there was no connection.
After a while, the lights in the cabin dimmed one by one.
Everyone started to get disoriented.
Several of the men looked at each other and began pounding on the cockpit door, creating a very deafening rattle when they got no response.
Some of the girls embraced each other and began to cry, tears streaming down their entire faces.
Ye Mu’s mind went a little blank, and subconsciously, he looked out the glass window, only to find that the plane was crashing into the ground at a speed that had caused it to lose to gravity.
“Rumble!”
Accompanied by a loud bang
The airplane crashed.
