A buzzing vibration kept echoing in his ears.
Ye Mu’s consciousness was blurred, and he had almost lost the ability to think.
The oxygen in the cabin was thin, and every breath repeated the feeling of suffocation.
A few minutes passed, and a strong, pungent smell of blood permeated the air.
When the plane crashed, it concentrated all the gravity on the front, and some passengers in the tail survived by chance.
Soon, some people woke up.
The moment they opened their eyes, they were faced with bloody corpses.
Some were thankful, some were in tears, and some were frightened.
The movement in the cabin was slow and quiet at first, and a few kind-hearted people tried to wake up those who were still unconscious.
Suddenly, someone shouted.
“Get out quickly! The plane is leaking oil and is about to explode!”
As soon as the words were spoken, screams of terror erupted in the cabin, and footsteps began to become hurried and noisy.
Ye Mu was heavily stepped on several times by men who were fleeing for their lives. The pain made him regain some perception, and then he opened his eyes.
He moved and looked down to see that his shoulder was pierced by a steel pipe from above.
The lack of oxygen made him a little dizzy and weak, and he almost wanted to fall asleep again.
“Wake up.”
Someone beside him was talking.
Ye Mu instinctively looked aside and found that Chen Mo was looking at him with a pale face.
He was injured more seriously than himself, with almost half of his body pressed by the fuselage, and the wound kept bleeding. His eyes were half closed, and he had lost the desire to survive.
Ye Mu was stunned for a moment and then suddenly woke up. He gritted his teeth and pulled out the steel pipe, turning to push the heavy object pressing on Chen Mo.
Because he used too much force, the wound on his shoulder ruptured more severely, and blood kept dripping down.
“Leave quickly.” Chen Mo said, his voice already weak to the extreme.
Ye Mu didn’t answer and started to frantically hammer the heavy shell.
Someone walked by in the aisle and pulled him, “Brother, don’t bother, he can’t be saved! Let’s go, this plane is going to explode!”
But Ye Mu seemed not to hear, and he shouldered the heavy shell and desperately pushed it up.
The veins in his neck were exposed, making his whole face flushed, and sweat soaked his sweatshirt in no time.
Chen Mo had lost too much blood and had no strength to speak, but he couldn’t bear to see him like this. He exhaled weakly and said, “Go quickly, don’t waste your energy.”
Ye Mu frowned tightly and lost his temper for once, “Don’t talk.”
Chen Mo’s heart was filled with mixed feelings. He closed his eyes and turned his head, not looking at him anymore.
The smell of gasoline in the cabin was getting stronger and stronger, and all the survivors had left, leaving only the two of them.
Time passed by minute by minute.
Ye Mu was still trying, using all his strength to fight against it.
At the moment the plane crashed, he was not afraid.
On the contrary, he had a sense of relief.
For so many years, he had been too tired of living.
Since breaking up with Yan Chen, he had long lost the meaning of his existence.
But Chen Mo was still so young, and he didn’t want to watch him die.
A strong instinct made him burst out with more strength from within.
After an unknown amount of time, with another sudden exertion, he finally successfully lifted the heavy shell.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Ye Mu picked up Chen Mo, who was slumped in the chair and ran towards the cabin door.
“Bang!”
Without any warning, at the same instant, the entire plane exploded with a bang.
The powerful air currents spread around at a horrifying speed. Ye Mu protected Chen Mo from behind at the first moment and knocked him down.
Someone was screaming, someone was crying with their head in their hands, smoke was everywhere, and the surroundings were in a mess.
Chen Mo weakly lifted his eyelids, and the last scene he saw was Ye Mu lying in a pool of blood.
…
Shanghai, Downtown
At 11 p.m., Gu Huai received a phone call.
The contact was a private detective.
After listening to the other party’s report, he hung up the phone and walked directly into the study.
The room was dark, and Yan Chen was looking at documents under a desk lamp. It was a long time before he noticed Gu Huai.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
Gu Huai stared at him and said lightly, “Ye Mu had an accident. The flight he was on today crashed.”
The tip of Yan Chen’s pen paused but quickly returned to normal, “Is he dead?”
Gu Huai carefully observed his expression and said slowly, “He was sent to the intensive care unit and is still in a coma.”
Yan Chen lowered his eyes and looked at the manuscript in his hand with a cold expression. After a long time, he spoke, “What a pity.”
“Do you really hope he dies?”
Yan Chen’s slender eyes showed a casual look, “Does this have anything to do with me?”
Gu Huai was silent.
Yan Chen raised his eyebrows and glanced at him, “You sent someone to follow him?”
Gu Huai didn’t deny it, “Yes, so I know everything, including the drunken sex you had after breaking up. I’ve been suspecting you, but after today, I think maybe I was overthinking.”
—He knew Yan Chen well. If he really had feelings for that person, he would never have such an indifferent attitude when he heard that the other person had an accident.
Yan Chen interlocked his fingers to support his chin, looking very calm, “You should trust me, Gu Huai. I don’t want to repeat it. From beginning to end, I only like you.”
Gu Huai lowered his eyes, and his long black eyelashes cast a shadow, making it impossible to see his expression clearly.
“Let’s get married, Yan Chen.”
The air was quiet.
Three minutes passed, and still no one answered.
Gu Huai was a little disappointed.
He turned to leave but was hugged from behind.
Yan Chen embraced him, his side profile handsome and charming, smiling extremely gently, “Gu Huai, do you know how long I’ve been waiting for these words?”
