Chapter 18 – Guan Shu

The motorcycle zoomed along the road. When he was alone, Guan Shu would drive his motorcycle so fast that it felt like he could take off, but with Shen Yao sitting behind him, he kept the speed steady and safe.

Guan Shu treasured his motorcycle, which was expensive and had been modified. His father thought he was being too showy and almost broke his legs. Despite this, Guan Shu refused to sell it.

When his best friend wanted to touch the motorcycle, Guan Shu slapped him so hard that his hand was swollen.

Apart from Guan Shu, only Shen Yao could touch the motorcycle and ride on it. When Shen Yao said he wanted to drive it, Guan Shu agreed.

During the test drive, there was an accident. With a loud bang, Shen Yao and the motorcycle crashed into a tree. Guan Shu wasn’t worried about his motorcycle at all, he rushed over to check Shen Yao’s injuries.

Fortunately, they were minor. However, Guan Shu was still scared and took him to the hospital, even though Shen Yao kept insisting that it was just a minor skin injury.

Shen Yao’s coat fluttered in the wind as he hugged Guan Shu’s waist from behind, with his cheek pressed against Guan Shu’s back.

Guan Shu had a fiery temper, like a furnace even in winter. Now, even through their thin clothing in summer, Shen Yao could feel his burning heat.

He liked hugging Guan Shu.

The motorcycle stopped outside the apartment building. The apartment was supposed to be Guan Shu’s 18th birthday present next year, but he had stolen the key from home early after he started dating Shen Yao.

Shen Yao sat on the motorcycle, not moving or saying anything, but he opened his arms towards Guan Shu.

“Wow, Shen Yao, you’re getting more and more delicate,” Guan Shu said, sounding a little disdainful but also strangely pleased. He picked Shen Yao up, “Now you don’t even want to get down by yourself?”

Shen Yao stood on his own feet and took the initiative to hold Guan Shu’s hand. He knew Guan Shu was just being stubborn, so he asked, “What’s wrong? Do you not want to hug me?”

Guan Shu squeezed his hand and made a “hmph” sound from his nose.

“Do you not want to?” Shen Yao asked innocently, “If you don’t want to, I’ll have to find someone else to hug me.”

“Who the h*ll are you going to find to hug you?”

Even though he knew Shen Yao was just teasing him, Guan Shu still couldn’t stay calm. He simply picked Shen Yao up, holding his butt, and gritted his teeth, “I’ll hug you, I never said I wouldn’t hug you…”

“Guan Shu.” Shen Yao hugged his shoulder and reminded him, “You’re swearing again.”

“…”

Guan Shu held Shen Yao in his arms while opening the apartment door with his free hand. After they entered the house, he put Shen Yao down.

“What have you been up to these past few days?” Shen Yao changed into slippers skillfully, a matching pair with Guan Shu, “You didn’t reply to my messages much. Did something big happen?”

He raised his head, and in the bright light of the apartment, Shen Yao noticed that there were many wounds on Guan Shu’s arms. They were small and large, with cuts and bruises, and they looked scary.

Shen Yao opened his eyes in surprise and instinctively grabbed Guan Shu’s arm. He lightly touched him and asked, “Where did all these wounds come from?”

“It’s okay, they don’t hurt.”

Guan Shu had been beaten by his father since he was young, and these wounds were nothing to him. What really hurt were the bruises on his back and abdomen that were hidden by his clothes.

He didn’t want to show his vulnerable side to his omega. He wanted to be reliable and strong in front of Shen Yao.

So he wouldn’t tell Shen Yao about the wounds on his back.

Guan Shu was still very excited now, and the secretion of adrenaline could temporarily mask the pain. He opened the cabinet above the entrance and took out a trophy.

He handed it to Shen Yao, with a proud and tense tone: “Shen Yao, I just participated in the military competition after being of age, and I won against many alphas. That’s how I got this trophy.”

This competition was not child’s play. There were no teammates in the simulated match, and the whole process was done alone. Besides oneself, everyone else was an opponent.

Not only did one have to find a way to survive smoothly, but one also had to remain calm at all times because one never knew if there were any opponents nearby or if there were any gun barrels hidden in the branches and leaves pointing at them.

The last opponent Guan Shu faced was a special forces soldier. They had already run out of bullets and were fighting hand-to-hand.

Afraid of being seen by Shen Yao, Guan Shu had been protecting his face and was hit many times. When the special forces soldier could no longer stand, Guan Shu could barely get up from the ground, coughing up blood.

He was the youngest alpha in this military competition. When various seniors praised him, Guan Shu had only one thought. He pointed to the trophy and asked, “Can I add my name to it?”

This trophy has been Guan Shu’s goal since childhood. When he achieved it, he wanted to carve Shen Yao’s name on it, which he had planned from the beginning.

Giving the trophy to Shen Yao is equivalent to letting him witness his ideal together.

“I argued with them for half a day.” Guan Shu pointed to the name on the base and said, “They didn’t agree, saying that it couldn’t be an exception, at most they could lend me the carving knife.”

Guan Shu hasn’t slept much in the past few days since coming out of the jungle. His sweat hasn’t stopped, and the mud and camouflage haven’t been wiped off. Guan Shu held the trophy first, and his eyes were full of concentration as he carved the names on it.

Guan Shu’s father saw his worthless appearance and asked the security personnel around him to take care of him, and then turned around and left.

“So I can only carve your name myself.”

“I know that this gift may not be something that you, as an omega, would like. I have prepared other things, but this means a lot to me, so I really want to give it to you.”

“The alphas who have received the trophy will undoubtedly become very powerful in the future, and I want to become very powerful too.”

With so many alphas liking Shen Yao, how can Guan Shu take care of the delicate and precious Shen Yao if he is not powerful in the future?

For some reason, the more Guan Shu spoke, the more tense his voice became, and his hand hung in the air.

However, Shen Yao did not raise his hand for a long time, and his expression was a little dazed, making it hard to guess what he was thinking.

Guan Shu panicked and shoved the trophy at him, gritting his teeth and saying, “Shen Yao! I worked so hard to get it, you can’t refuse it!”

As he continued to give the gift, it sounded like a threat: “You have to take it even if you don’t want it!”

“Guan Shu, I didn’t say I don’t want it.” Shen Yao held the trophy and tiptoed to kiss Guan Shu, “I really like your gift, I’m just worried about the injury on your arm.”

“No…” Guan Shu instinctively said.

“You can’t say it doesn’t hurt because it looks very painful.”

Shen Yao pulled Guan Shu to sit on the sofa and took out the ointment from the medicine box left at Guan Shu’s house. He first squeezed it on his hand, then gently applied it to Guan Shu’s wound.

The scene was too beautiful, the pretty omega lowered his head, and his soft fingers rubbed over Guan Shu’s arm. Under the bright white light, Shen Yao was clean from head to toe.

“Yao Yao,” Guan Shu couldn’t help but lower his head, his lips were close to Shen Yao’s, and he whispered, “Can I kiss you?”

Although Guan Shu spoke harshly, his kiss was so gentle. Sometimes when he kissed Shen Yao, he didn’t even dare to extend his tongue.

His omega looked so fragile, like the most precious porcelain in the world. Guan Shu had a lot of strength that he couldn’t use, but he was always very careful when kissing Shen Yao, as if he was holding a piece of candy.

Guan Shu lightly kissed him while holding onto Shen Yao’s hand. He was too restrained, sweat beads forming on the tip of his nose.

Moonlight shone through the window, and Guan Shu vowed to the bright moon, “I want to be with you forever.”

He really liked Shen Yao, and all the palpitations were because of him.

The sky was low and the summer daylight was long. After sunset, the sky was still bright, but the blue was somewhat gray.

Shen Yao changed into a suit that Yan Zhixing had someone custom make for him at the estate. The style was somewhat similar.

He and Yan Zhixing sat in the back seat together, both with the same cold expression. Chen Shuang accidentally glanced at the image in the rearview mirror and felt that they were surprisingly similar.

Their relationship had eased somewhat during this time. Yan Zhixing marked him again last night, about a week since the last time. It was much gentler this time. Shen Yao glanced at the scratches left on Yan Zhixing’s hand from last time.

When they arrived at the gate of the Gu family estate, Shen Yao and Yan Zhixing got out of the car one after the other. He needed to be protected in Yan Zhixing’s name, so naturally he had to act very affectionate with him.

They didn’t link arms, but they walked very close together. They both had outstanding appearances, and their heights matched very well, looking very compatible.

Wherever Yan Zhixing went, Shen Yao followed him, accompanying him to meet the Gu family’s parents and Gu Yunyun.

The Gu family parents looked very affectionate, which was revealed through their physical contact. Yan Zhixing was their junior, and they had met several times before. “Zhixing.”

Yan Zhixing nodded in response.

Gu Yunyun was the alpha female that he had met at the last banquet. Her family had more than one child, but she was the one who eventually took over as the family head.

She was very beautiful, the kind of beauty that was very aggressive. Shen Yao’s gaze lingered on her face for a moment. When she saw Yan Zhixing approaching, a smile appeared on her face. “Mr. Yan, it’s been a long time.”

Yan Zhixing calmly said, “Congratulations.”

Chen Shuang stood behind him and handed the gift to the person who was with the parents of the Gu family without needing any indication from him.

“Congratulations to you too,” Gu Yunyun praised sincerely after looking at Shen Yao for a moment. “A very beautiful omega.”

Although they were all in the same circle, Gu Yunyun was several years older than Shen Yao and not from the same generation. Shen Yao also never showed his face, so she had never seen him before.

Upon hearing the compliment, Shen Yao shyly smiled and replied, “Thank you…”

He seemed a little shy, and his gaze once again turned to the face of Yan Zhixing, filled with love and trust.

In a sense, Shen Yao’s actions were meant to disgust Yan Zhixing.

“Heh.”

Just as Shen Yao was about to say something else, he heard a cold laughter from behind, a tone and voice that seemed familiar.

This familiarity swept through his entire body in an instant, and his physical reaction was faster than his brain.

He subconsciously turned around.

Standing not far behind him was an alpha in a black uniform, with a silver chain connected to his shoulder and chest, a belt of the same color as his clothes tied around his waist, and no gun in the holster around his waist. He stood in brand new military boots.

The newly appointed prosecutor had a handsome face with sharp eyebrows and eyes. He looked like he was smiling, but when he stared at Shen Yao’s eyes and corners of his mouth seriously, he could tell that there was no trace of a smile.

In the end, his entire face became completely cold.

After not seeing each other for four years, Guan Shu had become even more handsome, and he had finally learned to slightly restrain his emotions.

A few days ago, Shen Yao had just thought of his memories with Guan Shu from the past. The old Guan Shu used to like to stare at him, passionate and exuberant, with eyes that only had room for him, like a wolf.

The present Guan Shu hadn’t changed, still only looking at him, but those eyes were deep like ink, brewing a storm of blood and violence.

The emotions inside were silent, but Shen Yao could see the icy hatred in his eyes.

He subconsciously took two steps back. Shen Yao’s sixth sense told him that Guan Shu seemed to want to come over and tear him apart with his own hands.

Especially when Guan Shu lifted his foot and walked towards him.
