The Whole Sect Is Acting Strange Chapter 68

Chapter 68

One day as a teacher, a lifetime as a father; the cultivation world is particularly concerned about such principles.

Even though Pei Yunshu had become indifferent to the relationship between him and his master during the hundreds of years in the heart demon, it doesn’t mean he could draw a hundred cuts on Ling Qing Daoist Spiritual Master.

He struggled to break free from the person behind him. “Go away!”

The more he resisted, the more cruel the ghost hands gripping him became. Ling Qing Daoist Spiritual Master was covered in blood, with his skin torn open. Even after being cut a hundred times, he didn’t die. He looked at Pei Yunshu with a mix of surprise and anger.

Pei Yunshu’s breath quickened for a moment, then calmed down again.

The person behind him said, “Why so calm?”

Pei Yunshu showed no response to his words.

The hand around his waist moved up to his chest, fiercely grabbing Pei Yunshu’s chin. “The master is talking to you, but you pretend not to hear.”

The pain on his chin was particularly real. Pei Yunshu sneered, “What kind of master are you?”

Laughter echoed in his ears as the hand on his chin pinched his cheeks. The hand was large, and the long nails touched the corner of Pei Yunshu’s eyes, leaving a long scratch. “Little thing, when I get out, you’ll know how to behave.”

The stinging sensation came, and blood slid from the wound at the corner of his eye. Pei Yunshu felt like a stiff wooden puppet; he couldn’t control himself. His face had turned completely dark.

The ghost hands brought Pei Yunshu towards Ling Qing Daoist Spiritual Master, who was not yet dead, and struck him down the corridor with a sword.

“Splash,” the sound of water came, and Pei Yunshu took a step forward as he was pushed, only to see his grandmaster meditating.

The grandmaster seemed to sense something, opened his eyes, and his cold, black, and emotionless gaze swept around before settling on Pei Yunshu, staring deeply at him.

“Where are you?”

Pei Yunshu’s throat rolled, and he could only look straight at his grandmaster with a tensed jaw.

Venerable Wuwang shifted his gaze to behind Pei Yunshu, and his lips lightly parted. “Demon?”

Pei Yunshu was pushed, his hand controlled, and a sword pierced through the chest of Venerable Wuwang.

Venerable Wuwang glanced at the injury, then stared at him again, asking, “Where are you?”

The person behind him laughed maliciously. “This grandmaster should be dignified and focused on cultivating his ruthless path. But he has evil thoughts about you, half of his Dao heart has turned black.”

“Look at him, on the surface, he looks pure, but in reality, he has fantasized about you lying in bed with him countless times. Whenever he sees you, he gets tongue-tied. Underneath his Dao robe, who knows how many times he has reacted. He sealed your past memories, saying it’s for the sake of your Dao heart, but it’s purely selfish. It’s just to make sure you don’t hate him. He didn’t seal anything your senior brothers did to you in this lifetime. Isn’t he trying to make you remember only his goodness, so that he can monopolize you?”

Venerable Wuwang waved his sleeve, and a small knife the size of a palm flew out. The knife grazed Pei Yunshu’s cheek, attacking the person behind him fiercely.

Pei Yunshu gritted his teeth. “Disgusting.”

It was unclear whether he was referring to the person behind him or Venerable Wuwang.

The person behind him restrained Pei Yunshu, holding him in his arms, and calmly said, “Tell me, why did he strip away your emotional string?”

The voice was soft, like a whisper. “He can’t have you, so he doesn’t want anyone else to have you.”

“Such a villain,” the malice in this person’s laughter was colder than the dark river below the corridor. “But it’s a pity. Your master still doesn’t know that the emotions he took from you are fake.”

Venerable Wuwang’s eyes tightened, and he stared at Pei Yunshu with waves of emotion rising within.

His eyes showed too much complexity. Pei Yunshu’s heart tightened, but he quickly calmed himself. “This is just a dream. What do you want?”

“I just wanted to tell your master,” this person watched the drama unfold, “that you are currently in the East Sea Divine Dragon Secret Realm.”

***

In the Shanshui Sect, Venerable Wuwang abruptly opened his eyes.

He touched his heart, and the wound had disappeared.

The East Sea Divine Dragon Secret Realm?

His long eyelashes trembled slightly, casting a shadow as he got up. Venerable Wuwang felt as cold as ice. After a while, he stood up and walked out.

***

In his dream, Pei Yunshu had been killing people all night, including the eagle that Zhuyou had killed, as well as the shopkeeper who sold dragon’s blood essence and whom he had encountered in the mortal realm.

His arms had become numb from all the swinging. He let a night pass, and none of the familiar people he knew had entered the dream.

Bai Lige gradually woke up, looked beside him, and saw a visible black mist covering Pei Yunshu’s hand.

He inhaled sharply and quickly moved to Pei Yunshu’s side. He examined the ominous black mist and frowned, “Is this demonic energy?”

This was a level of demonic energy so heavy that it could be seen with the naked eye. What kind of monster could produce such heavy demonic energy?

Bai Lige tried to disperse the mist but found that, as he did, the black fog slowly enveloped Pei Yunshu’s entire body.

Young Master Qingfeng nearby said, “Don’t waste your efforts anymore.”

Bai Lige’s eyebrows twitched. “What do you mean?”

Young Master Qingfeng said, “Just wait until he wakes up.”

***

As the dream was about to end, Pei Yunshu stopped swinging the sword and looked at the blood-covered Qingyue Sword in his hand. His eyes were heavy.

The person behind him lifted his hand, and that exquisite ring on his slender finger seemed particularly appealing. “Remember this thing.”

The person behind him tempted, “If you can find another ring like this, these people you just killed, I will really kill them all for you.”

A black haze radiated from Pei Yunshu’s hand, enveloping the life force in his wrist.

“Be obedient, and I will unlock the sealed memories for you.”

Pei Yunshu’s throat moved slightly, he turned his head, but only saw darkness.

“How do I find the ring?”

“You—”

Qingyue Sword pierced through Pei Yunshu’s heart and also through the person behind him.

Blood continuously flowed from his mouth as intense pain struck from his heart. Despite it all, Pei Yunshu smiled, pressing the blade even deeper, and the sound of his breathing became suddenly heavier.

“Something that hides from people and doesn’t dare to show itself,” Pei Yunshu imitated the way mortals insult each other, and his confidence grew stronger. “Where do you get the face to let others call you a master?”

Although it was crude, it felt liberating.

The smell of blood behind him became stronger, and Pei Yunshu’s eyelids twitched. He woke up from his slumber.

He touched his chest and suddenly burst into laughter.

As Bai Lige was about to ask what had happened, Young Master Qingfeng stumbled as he walked over, questioning if he was in a dream.

“Yunshu?” Bai Lige hesitantly called out.

Pei Yunshu smiled as he looked at Bai Lige, and he asked cheerfully, “Bai Lige, how do you feel about your wound?”

“I’m fine,” Bai Lige said, confused. “But you have demonic energy on you.”

He took another look at Pei Yunshu and was surprised. “The demonic energy is gone.”

Young Master Qingfeng approached them and pulled Bai Lige away. He had a serious expression as he examined Pei Yunshu’s eyes. He took a vial, poured a drop of water out, and drew a rune on Pei Yunshu’s forehead with it.

Pei Yunshu blinked, cooperating without moving. “Young Master Qingfeng, what are you doing?”

Bai Lige looked nervous. “Is Yunshu alright? What’s wrong?”

“The demonic energy is gone. I’m afraid he’s already been possessed by demonic energy,” Young Master Qingfeng furrowed his brows as he gazed at Pei Yunshu. “Demonic cultivators are different from ordinary demonic entities; they can possess the host. You don’t have to pretend to have his expression; quickly leave his body.”

Pei Yunshu was puzzled, “You’ve misunderstood, Young Master Qingfeng.”

He raised his hand and looked at the gem on the ring, noticing that the black liquid within it had decreased slightly. The attack he just made should have been effective.

Pei Yunshu smiled, whether the person had underestimated him or was caught off guard, he could now eliminate him.

Once Young Master Qingfeng finished drawing the rune, Pei Yunshu stood up from the ground. He smiled and said, “Don’t worry, I’m completely fine.”

He didn’t appear to be in any trouble, and Young Master Qingfeng checked his forehead again. The rune he drew had not lit up. However, his expression remained neutral. “Hmm.”

When Hua Yue was awakened from his meditation, the group arrived at the correct cave entrance and entered together.

At that moment, a black haze seemed to flash in Pei Yunshu’s eyes. The rune on his forehead suddenly lit up. He paused and reached to touch his forehead.

Not finding anything unusual, Qingyue Sword flew to his side, trembling slightly.

Pei Yunshu led the way, and everyone behind him stopped as well. Hua Yue asked, “What’s wrong, Yunshu Beauty?”

“Nothing,” Pei Yunshu said, lowering his hand and furrowing his eyebrows. “Let’s keep moving.”

***

At the end of the tunnel, they could see a faint light ahead. When they stepped out of the tunnel, they found themselves submerged in the deep sea.

Hua Yue was a dryland fox and was waving his arms in panic, but he quickly reacted and cast a protective barrier around himself.

They swam upwards for a long time but couldn’t see the surface. Frustrated, they changed direction and swam deeper into the sea.

In the depths of the ocean, they discovered a massive palace that had been partially destroyed. They landed on the ground and looked at each other. Then they swam towards the palace.

Pei Yunshu noticed that the palace was surrounded by aquatic plants, and many small fish swam around them. This place had been abandoned for many years, and as they swam through, it was clear how magnificent it once was.

They entered one of the rooms, and Young Master Qingfeng dispelled the seawater inside. Finally, they were able to stand on solid ground.

“Cough cough cough!” Hua Yue coughed for quite some time. Feeling uncomfortable, he quickly hugged Pei Yunshu. “Yunshu, it’s hard for Hua Yue. Can you carry me?”

Pei Yunshu held him in his arms and looked around at the surroundings.

There were carvings on the walls, and as he approached, he focused on them. The wall depicted scenes of divine dragons in conflict and reproducing.

“This place has a hidden door,” Bai Lige tapped the walls, searching for a mechanism. Fox ears sprouted from his head as he leaned against the wall and listened carefully. “There’s empty space behind this wall.”

Pei Yunshu moved his eyes away from the mural. “Did you find the mechanism?”

“It should be nearby.” Bai Lige, with rich experience, felt around and quickly located a stone. With a twist of his hand, a small door suddenly opened on the wall, just enough for one person to enter.

Inside the door, there was a staircase leading downwards, and the sound of water trickled down the stairs, bringing a damp atmosphere.

Bai Lige turned to look, picked up a stone, and threw it towards the door. Several rotten arrows shot out from the walls on both sides, breaking in half when hitting the opposite wall.

The mechanisms, corroded by sea water over a long period, had already deteriorated.

Bai Lige was about to step into the hidden door when Pei Yunshu reached out and stopped him. Without saying a word, Pei Yunshu took the lead and stepped forward.

Bai Lige, now shielded by Pei Yunshu, clicked his tongue. “Why is Yunshu protecting me so tightly?”

Young Master Qingfeng mocked him, “Aren’t you Yunshu’s official wife? If he doesn’t protect you, who will he protect?”

“Be careful what you say,” Bai Lige warned. “That stupid dragon might still be lurking nearby. Before, when I was injured, I dared to provoke him in front of Yunshu. He wouldn’t dare hurt me in front of Yunshu. Now that I’ve recovered, that idiotic dragon might attack me at any moment.”

As he spoke, Bai Lige suddenly noticed something on Pei Yunshu’s ankle, which had revealed a patch of fair skin he hadn’t seen before.

A deep red mark had appeared, seemingly bitten into his delicate ankle bone. The mark was so vivid that it was hard to ignore, contrasting starkly with his fair skin.

Young Master Qingfeng’s face unexpectedly reddened, and then it darkened.

Bai Lige, however, reacted like an average person on the street and whistled as he gazed at the mark.

Yunshu’s ankles were also exceptionally attractive; those small bones would likely be quite comfortable to have in one’s mouth.

“Yunshu, when did you get this?” Bai Lige quickly asked.

Pei Yunshu followed his gaze and saw the red mark. He was surprised. How had it appeared on his body?

…It was probably the black dragon, who had done this silently, again.
