Chapter 91

Pei Yunshu’s attack on the Sect Master caused more blood to flow than he had anticipated.

After shaking off those who attempted to catch up with him, Pei Yunshu found refuge in a secluded, uninhabited wooden hut. He opened the scroll and attempted to capture a small grasshopper with it, then dripped a drop of blood on the grasshopper.

Fortunately, just as he had expected, the blood-drenched grasshopper successfully flew out of the scroll. Pei Yunshu breathed a sigh of relief and dared to use this blood to wipe it on the bodies of Zhuyou and Bai Lige.

“Zhuyou was quite clever this time, knowing to transform into the size of a bracelet,” Pei Yunshu said busily, “But Bai Li is not so good. Why did you follow in? If you entered, at least shrink a bit. How much blood do I need to use to get you out, being such a big white fox?”

“Fortunately, I’m quite powerful,” Pei Yunshu coughed lightly, “Unconsciously, I’ve developed a thick skin like Zhuyou.”

He cheerfully used up the blood. Before Bai Lige came out, Zhuyou had already run out through the slit he tore open. The black bracelet transformed into human form and covered Pei Yunshu in his arms.

With blood on Pei Yunshu’s hands, he patted Zhuyou’s back with the back of his hand and muttered, “Zhuyou, stop being so clingy.”

Zhuyou released him and calmly stated the fact, “When I’m not around, you get into trouble.”

Pei Yunshu: “…”

Having previously injured the Sect Master of Flower Brocade Sect and successfully evaded those trying to pursue him, Pei Yunshu had been somewhat proud. However, now his mood deflated again. “This time was unexpected.”

“Believe me,” Pei Yunshu’s voice grew smaller, “I have become quite powerful.”

The uncertainty in his tone was noticeable, and Zhuyou could hear it clearly.

But before Zhuyou could say more, a white fox leaped out of the scroll, transformed into a handsome man in a flash.

“You two actually came out ahead of me,” Bai Lige laughed. “I thought I was the fastest in tearing that opening.”

The two of them, full of vigor, seemed more spirited than Pei Yunshu, who had come out first. Pei Yunshu asked them to sit down, brewed some spirit tea, and took out some snacks. Leisurely, he began recounting the events that occurred after entering the scroll.

After he finished speaking, lifting the cup and taking a sip of the green tea, he looked up only to see Zhuyou and Bai Lige staring at him intently.

Pei Yunshu wondered, “What are you looking at me for?”

“Yunshu, you ventured alone through Flower Brocade Sect, and now, how do you feel about your strength?” Bai Lige asked.

Pei Yunshu blushed. Face-to-face, he still lacked enough thick skin, modestly saying, “It should be okay.”

Bai Lige felt that Pei Yunshu seemed different now.

A nascent soul-stage cultivator was already considered a strong presence in the cultivation world, but Pei Yunshu always stayed close to Zhuyou. When encountering people like Bai Lige or Young Master Qingfeng, who had profound cultivation bases, and those who posed dangers and restrained him, their cultivations were far more formidable than Pei Yunshu’s. This made Pei Yunshu think that he wasn’t powerful at all.

But now, after venturing alone through Flower Brocade Sect and killing the provocateur Zouyu, Pei Yunshu finally realized that his strength wasn’t weak. Not only was it not weak, but it seemed quite formidable.

He exuded a confidence and composure that he hadn’t had before.

A stream of water forcefully splashed Bai Lige, who was staring unblinkingly, to the ground. Zhuyou coldly said, “Have you seen enough?”

Bai Lige wiped away the water from his face. “You’re really overbearing.”

After finishing their conversation and the tea, Pei Yunshu stored the Bestowal Divine Painting and took out his sword. Together with the other two, they flew away, preparing to leave Flower Brocade Sect.

However, as they were about to leave Flower Brocade Sect, a clear and resounding voice suddenly echoed throughout the sect.

“Qingfeng, you have defied me.”

The three people in the air abruptly stopped.

The speaker had a powerful spiritual sense, and the casually pronounced sentence resonated throughout Flower Brocade Sect, echoing anywhere randomly. “In fifteen minutes, execute him in front of the hall.”

“Execute Qingfeng?” Bai Lige’s bones cracked, his face darkening. “This is intentionally luring us back.”

Pei Yunshu clenched his fists. After a moment, he and Bai Lige turned around without hesitation, flying back along the same route.

Zhuyou followed along indifferently. In less than a moment, they found the execution hall in Flower Brocade Sect.

The smell of blood here was extremely strong. Even from a distance, the scent could be detected. The hall’s master stood in front of the hall, and hundreds of Flower Brocade Sect disciples in black stood there. Among them, a dozen or so had strange auras, neither demon nor human.

The three people found a place to hide. The flood dragon, despite not having the intention of saving Young Master Qingfeng, couldn’t help but be eager when seeing this scene.

He stared intently below, his nails becoming sharp and long. Pei Yunshu promptly held him back and whispered, “Don’t act recklessly.”

Zhuyou nodded, restraining the desire to rush down and engage in a fight.

Pei Yunshu looked down carefully, and Young Master Qingfeng’s pale face was shielded at the center. His lips were cracked, cold sweat was pouring, and his clothes were stained with blood, portraying an extremely weakened appearance.

“They are waiting for us,” Pei Yunshu sneered. “They are so ruthless even to their own people. Indeed, demonic cultivators are merciless and vicious.”

“They have formed a formation,” Bai Lige pondered for a moment. “Qingfeng is protected at the center of the formation. We can’t save him unless we eliminate everyone.”

Pei Yunshu and Zhuyou looked at Bai Lige, both wearing expressions of confusion.

Bai Lige chuckled, “It seems that in this battle, you’ll need to follow my commands.”

***

Young Master Qingfeng knelt on the ground, the wounds on his body causing intense pain under the scorching sun. He kept his head low, allowing cold sweat to drip along his jawline.

The venomous bead inside him had not yet erupted. The master of the punishment hall stood beside him. Upon hearing his labored breaths, he turned to look at him and said, “Qingfeng, I’ve been lenient.”

“I know…” Young Master Qingfeng struggled to say these three words, swallowing the bloody air in his throat. “You’ve grown old.”

The master of the execution hall chuckled, “When you fall into my hands next time, I’ll show you whether I’ve truly grown old.”

Young Master Qingfeng laboriously lifted his eyes. People surrounded him, and there was no place to escape.

Want Pei Yunshu to come?

Young Master Qingfeng wanted to live, but he didn’t want Pei Yunshu to come.

At this moment, the master of the execution hall said, “Half of the fifteen minutes have passed.”

He used spiritual sense for this sentence, and each word seemed to whisper in Young Master Qingfeng’s ears, the intended listener obvious.

“It’s been so long since I last saw the Sect Master injured,” the master of the execution hall said with a nostalgic tone. “Qingfeng, looking at the Sect Master’s mood, it seems there’s no anger.”

Young Master Qingfeng coughed a few times, coughing so hard that his internal organs ached, and blood flowed from the corners of his lips. He didn’t want to talk to him.

Every six beats, the master of the execution hall would loudly announce a sentence. This was Young Master Qingfeng’s death sentence, and it was also a way to force those hidden individuals to reveal themselves.

After instructing Pei Yunshu and Zhuyou, Bai Lige was about to make a gesture to approach, but Pei Yunshu suddenly reached out and stopped him.

“Don’t move,” Pei Yunshu pressed hard, “Someone is coming.”

Bai Lige was stunned. “Who?”

In the next moment, two people descended from the sky on flying swords. Both wore Daoist robes, exuding righteousness. In their hands, they held a charming woman. As soon as the woman landed, she asked the people in front of the execution hall, “What are you doing? Waiting to rescue me?”

The master of the execution hall loudly said, “Yuan Er, why did you come back at this time, precisely now?”

“Can I control that?” Yuan Er smiled at the two people beside her, “Two brothers, this is Flower Brocade Sect. Judging from the situation, it seems that something big is happening in the sect. Why don’t you two come to my place first?”

The three of them turned their backs to Pei Yunshu’s group hiding away. Pei Yunshu didn’t need to see their faces. When he saw their Daoist robes, he was already stunned in place.

They were disciples of Shanshui Sect.

This back figure was extremely familiar, his senior brothers.

Pei Yunshu’s breath became chaotic for a moment. He looked ahead without blinking, wanting to know why his senior brothers had come to Flower Brocade Sect. Were they here for another reason, or were they here to chase after him?

Zhuyou tightened his grip on Pei Yunshu’s hand and whispered affectionately in his ear, “Hold your breath.”

Pei Yunshu restrained his emotions.

Eldest senior brother, wielding a sword and wearing Daoist attire, looked around in the crowd and finally withdrew his gaze, turning to Yuan Er. “Where is he?”

Yuan Er smiled ingratiatingly and blinked at him, “This brother, don’t be anxious. Let me ask someone first. What is the name of your junior fellow disciple?”

Yuncheng smiled like a spring breeze, “My junior brother is called Yunshu.”

Yuan Er cleared his throat and asked the master of the execution hall, “Have you seen someone named Yunshu?”

“Oh, isn’t this Ling Hall Master? Why are you kneeling beside him? Did you just receive a punishment?”

“The Master ordered him to be executed,” the Hall Master of the Punishment Hall smirked with a malicious grin, “The Master also gave the order that when you return, you’ll face execution as well.”

Yuan Er’s face suddenly turned pale, and Yuncheng raised an eyebrow. He looked around and, in a courteous manner, asking the master of the execution hall, “I am Yuncheng, a disciple of Shanshui Sect. Rarely visiting Flower Brocade Sect, may I ask, is my junior fellow disciple here?”

“Your junior fellow disciple is in Flower Brocade Sect,” the master of the execution hall said, “We are waiting for your junior fellow disciple to come to us.”

Yuncheng raised his lips, glanced at Young Master Qingfeng, and seemingly smiled, “Relying on him?”

His tone was disdainful, but his eyes were filled with gloom.

The master of the execution hall liked it when righteous people showed such expressions. He chuckled, “I advise you to leave before angering the Sect Master. The Sect Master has given orders, and this person, Pei Yunshu, is to be captured and offered to the Sect Master.”

“Even if you find this place, you won’t be able to take away your junior fellow disciple from us.”

Eldest Senior Brother’s voice turned cold, “Boastful.”

He drew a sword across Yuan Er’s neck and rushed into the crowd. Yuncheng, seeing this, smiled helplessly, and behind him appeared a dense array of thin swords. He leisurely stepped into the formation.

Pei Yunshu frowned, and within an instant, he made a decisive decision, deciding to take advantage of the chaos to save Young Master Qingfeng and then quickly leave. He was about to say this plan when he saw Zhuyou suddenly become heavy with killing intent. Leaving behind the words “I’ll go kill their Sect Master,” he disappeared.

The words spoken by the master of the execution hall, about offering Pei Yunshu to the Sect Master, completely infuriated Zhuyou.

Pei Yunshu didn’t even have time to say a word. He could only turn to Bai Lige and said, “Bai Li, take advantage of the chaos to save Qingfeng. I’ll go find Zhuyou.”

Bai Lige’s face was solemn. He nodded seriously, loosening his muscles and bones. In the blink of an eye, he transformed back to his original form and rushed into the melee.

Pei Yunshu followed along, guided by Zhuyou’s spiritual sense.

When the Sect Master and Zhuyou fought, he didn’t think Zhuyou would lose.

By the time he went to assist Zhuyou, the two working together would surely be able to kill the Sect Master.

Holding qingyue sword, his speed increased with a light tap of his toes. However, halfway there, a white light suddenly flashed in the sky, and a figure landed not far ahead.

This person was dressed in white, black hair flowing behind, with a beautiful face but a cold and emotionless expression. He raised his eyes toward Pei Yunshu, and the black eyes seemed to devour any darkness, showing no ripples.

“Enough with your adventures,” the Grandmaster said slowly. “It’s time for you to go back.”
