Chapter 16 I am willing to be the one to take care of you

Lian Yin was swearing at Lang Zhuoyu, a beast in clothes, a gentle scum, but suddenly felt that the other party had loosened his hand.

He looked over in puzzlement and found that Lang Zhuoyu had taken off his jacket.

A coat with a faint scent of cologne was wrapped around Lian Yin’s shoulders and tightly wrapped around him.

“Aren’t you cold?” Lang Zhuoyu pulled the collar and covered Lian Yin’s mouth tightly, “It’s only the beginning of the year, and you’re wearing clothes that show your belly.”

Lian Ying felt guilty and lowered his head without answering.

“And your clothes… Really, I can’t understand the trend, what’s so good about showing a belly?” Lang Zhuoyu wondered.

“What I clearly exposed was my waist.” Lian Yin retorted in a low voice.

Lang Zhuoyu didn’t argue with him about this. After fixing his clothes, he suggested: “Okay. If you don’t have any place to go, come with me for a late night snack. I’ve only just finished my work now and am a bit hungry.”

“Okay.” Lian Yin nodded.

More than ten minutes later, the two came to a stir-fried crayfish restaurant on the street.

The two found a seat by the window and sat down. Lang Zhuoyu scanned the QR code on the table with his mobile phone to order food.

“What would you like to eat? There are crayfish and barbecue here.” Lang Zhuoyu looked at Lian Yin and asked for his opinion.

Lian Yin wasn’t hungry yet and he didn’t like spicy and oily food very much, which both barbecue and crayfish were, so he had no appetite.

“You don’t have to worry about me.” Lian Yin said.

Lang Zhuoyu raised his eyes with a flash of seriousness on his face, then burst into a smile: “Don’t tell me you want to lose weight and can’t eat at night.”

It’s not that he wants to lose weight, he thought to himself, but he didn’t bother to look for an excuse. He stubbornly said, “I can’t?”

“No.” Lang Zhuoyu was decisive.

Lian Yin was stunned for a moment, he didn’t expect him to say no to it so righteously.

“You’re not fat at all, you’re even a little too thin.” Lang Zhuoyu placed his eyes back on the menu on his phone, “Do you want something sweet? There are Glutinous Rice Ball with Sweet Fermented Wine here. I’ll order one for you.”

“I I really can’t eat…” Lian Yin protested.

Lang Zhuoyu quickly ordered the meal and taught him in a calm voice: “No, you have to eat. You are too thin, a gust of wind can blow you away. Girls still need to be fat to look good and look young.”

The way he spoke with a sullen face made Lian Yin suddenly recall the experience of being caught by a teacher and sent to the office to be given a lecture in high school.

Sure enough, a person who was a teacher before… Lian Yin fell silent and failed to resist, so he gave up his resistance and reached for the hot tea on the table.

Seeing Lian Yin’s silence, Lang Zhuoyu also seemed to feel that his tone was a little harsh, and softened his expression: “And I heard that women too thin won’t have it easy when giving birth to children.”

Lian Yin, who was drinking tea, spat it out: “Pfft—cough cough cough!!!”

He coughed so loudly that it resounded throughout the store, attracting other customers to look over. Lang Zhuoyu quickly took out a few napkins and handed them to him to wipe his mouth.

Lian Yin covered his mouth with a tissue, stared at Lang Zhuoyu angrily, and asked back, “What does that have to do with me?”

Lang Zhuoyu was at a loss: “Didn’t you say that you want to have many, many children in the future?”

Lian Yin: When did I say that! ?

Wait… I seemed to have actually said it. Lian Yin suddenly remembered that when he and Lang Zhuoyu added each other on WeChat, in order to disgust the person, he deliberately said that he wanted to be a housewife and have a bunch of babies in the future.

Did Lang Zhuoyu take it seriously? !

Lian Yin took a deep breath, struggled internally, then explained in a low voice, “Actually, I haven’t thought that far.” Besides, I can’t give birth at all!

Hearing this, Lang Zhuoyu knew it was abrupt. How could he talk about such a topic with the girl he just started to date?

“I’m sorry, I don’t know how how to speak properly sometimes.” Lang Zhuoyu actively admitted his mistake, but his voice changed, “But when I said that you need to grow some meat is for your own good. If you are too thin, you will get sick easily.”

“It’s okay.” Lian Yin gritted his teeth.

Soon, a pot of spicy crayfish, a plate of grilled skewers and a bowl of Glutinous Rice Ball with Sweet Fermented Wine were brought to the table.

The warm and fragrant rice balls were placed in front of him, and Lian Yin was somewhat aroused by his appetite. He picked up the spoon and took a sip.

Sweet and hot, on a warmer but still cold night in early spring, it slid down the esophagus into the stomach, making the person sigh involuntarily. Lian Yin didn’t hold back, picked up the bowl and took two sips.

“Is it delicious?” Lang Zhuoyu looked at him with a smile on his face, and then handed over the disposable gloves, “Eat some crayfish.”

Lian Yin held up the gloves with two fingers in embarrassment, then put them down again: “I don’t eat things that need to be peeled.”

This was the truth. It was not that he was deliberately picky. He just thought that peeling the shells was a hassle, his hands would be covered with oil, and the sticky touch on his hands made him lose his appetite. When he was a child, he ate shrimp occasionally and his mother would peel it for him. No one would peel for him when he grew up, so he didn’t eat it.

He wanted to explain this to Lang Zhuoyu, that he really didn’t eat it, lest this guy babbled again, saying something to make himself eat more.

Unexpectedly, Lang Zhuoyu said nothing. He lowered his head, peeled a crayfish, pinched the tail, and put the whole crayfish into the empty bowl in front of Lian Yin.

Lian Yin raised his head to look at Lang Zhuoyu in surprise, saw the faint smile on his mouth, and said to him, “I understand, you can eat the peeled ones, right?”

Lian Yin’s mind was blank, stunned. Then, he listened to Lang Zhuoyu continue to speak.

“The introducer said that you were only two years younger than me, but I seem to feel that you are much younger than me, even a bit childish. Are you really 28 years old?”

Of course not, Lian Yin replied in his heart. That was Tong Tong’s age, and his real age was only twenty.

“But it’s pretty nice.” Lang Zhuoyu smiled, “You have a young mind, which means that you have been well cared for in your life journey, so that you can remain childish.”

He put another peeled crayfish into Lian Yin’s bowl. He said, “I’m also willing to be someone who will take care of you.”

Lian Yin froze in place.

The lights of restaurants were always light yellow and warm, which can make food look more delicious and stimulate a person’s appetite. It can also make people under the lights appear gentle and intoxicating.

Lang Zhuoyu’s tall and straight facial features became soft under the warm yellow light, losing their angularity and sharpness. The warmth and the harmonious atmosphere invaded Lian Yin, making him feel something warm entering his nose and eyes.

Lian Yin stood up abruptly, and the chair behind him was pushed against the ground making a sharp sound.

“What’s wrong?” Lang Zhuoyu asked.

“I… need to go to the convenience store and buy something.” Lian Yin lowered his head, turned and walked out as if running away.

He pushed open the door and the cold wind of the night swept in immediately. Lian Yin’s mind went blank, not knowing that he ran past several storefronts, then he finally turned around into a dark space.

In this moment of darkness, he leaned against the wall as if he had lost his strength, raised his neck, and his Adam’s apple emerged from the high collar that hid it, sliding tremulously twice.

“Woo…” Lian Yin covered his mouth and choked out. Two lines of tears instantly burst out of his eyes, slid down his cheeks.

The words that Lang Zhuoyu said under the warm light just now gave him an illusion, as if happiness was right in front of him, something he could easily obtain.

He was about to be deceived by the too beautiful picture and crash into a fantasy that did not belong to him.

Lian Yin suddenly regretted that he had accepted such a d*mn part-time job for money.

The other party was Lang Zhuoyu, a person who, no matter how good or perfect, had nothing to do with him.

This was just a scam, a scam that only targeted Lang Zhuoyu from beginning to end. He didn’t even know his real name or gender.

What qualifications did he have to feel happy because of Lang Zhuoyu?

Lang Zhuoyu sat in the seat, feeling a little worried for some reason.

He wanted to go out to find Lian Yin, but Lian Yin said that he just went to the convenience store to buy something, so he had no reason to chase after him. But he subconsciously realized that something was wrong with Lian Yin.

After hesitating for a while, Lang Zhuoyu finally stood up from his position and stood at the door under the watchful eyes of the boss.

“I’m just taking a breather.” Knowing that the boss suspected that he wanted to escape the bill, Lang Zhuoyu explained lightly.

Standing at the door and looking into the distance, he was relieved when he saw Lian Yin walking with a bottle of water.

Lian Yin didn’t expect Lang Zhuoyu to stand at the door, and was stunned for a while, then unnaturally reached out and brushed the corner of his eyes, making sure that the tears there had been cleaned up.

“Why are you standing outside?” Lian Yin’s voice sounded completely normal, with no trace of him just crying.

Lang Zhuoyu smiled: “Trying to see where you went to buy things.”

He turned to his side, walked into the door guarding Lian Yin, and asked, “Why did you think of going to the convenience store to buy water, there is some here too.”

Lian Yin joked: “Convenience store is cheaper.”

Lang Zhuoyu didn’t delve into it, and joked: “You are quite diligent and thrifty.”

After dinner, Lang Zhuoyu sent Lian Yin home.

Along the way, Lian Yin was very silent, only answering a few words when Lang Zhuoyu took the initiative to raise a topic. The rest of the time, he stared at the mottled city night outside the car window, stunned.

Of course, Lang Zhuoyu noticed Lian Yin’s silence. He just thought Lian Yin was tired and asked him before he got off the car: “If you are tired, go back and rest early.”

When he heard this sentence, Lian Yin stood outside the car. The door was still open and he almost blurted out and asked Lang Zhuoyu why he was so kind to himself.

He did not deserve it.

But he didn’t ask anything in the end, bowed his head and said good night to Lang Zhuoyu, turned around and walked home.

When he got home, Lian Yin quickly took off his makeup and changed his clothes while he was still standing, then dragged his tired body into the quilt.

Hurry up and think of a way to end it quickly, this will be good for both himself and Lang Zhuoyu.

Closing his eyes, he was about to fall into a dream in a daze, but was suddenly awakened by a ringing sound.

Lian Yin shivered all over, and took several seconds to calm down his heart rate that was too fast due to being suddenly woken up. He reached out and picked up the phone by the bedside. He didn’t even look at the caller ID, and put it to his ear to answer.

Opposite was a very noisy boy, talking loudly and overly enthusiastic:

“Lian Yin! How are you doing recently? In a few days, it will be the birthday of the monitor of Class 5, do you remember? You definitely didn’t remember. I’m calling to  tell you, it’s the monitor’s birthday, so our classmates who have been admitted to Beicheng are planning to get together. Everyone must come, you come too, do you hear me!”

Lian Yin sat up slowly, put the phone on her ear, mood falling to the bottom.
