Rebirth in the Apocalypse: The Peach Blossom Debt Chapter 101

Extra 2

Several people sighed. The consequence of excessively indulging Qi Yue was that they continued fighting on the land inside the space. Looking at the vast fields hanging with ripe fruit made them want to cry without tears. When would days like this ever end.

One morning a few days later, just as the sky was breaking dawn, the pale blue sky was still inlaid with a few lingering stars. Qi Yue and the others left the base by helicopter.

Qi Yue’s men had thought everything through. Sitting in the helicopter and gazing at the scene of the sun revealing a few rays of light from behind the dark mountain peaks in the distance was very beautiful, making people feel warm and filled with boundless hope for the future.

Before setting off, Qi Yue had been low-spirited for quite a while. His ability was only a tiny step away from reaching level six, yet he discovered that it had suddenly stagnated. No matter how many different styles of dishes or varieties he tried, it was useless. He could not figure out the reason at all.

Looking at the scenery in the distance, Qi Yue sighed, hoping that changing environments would allow him to advance smoothly. He was very much looking forward to new skills.

“What are you thinking about?” Qi Yue was hugged from behind by Tang Ke.

“Nothing, it’s very beautiful outside.” The corners of Qi Yue’s lips lifted. His narrow eyelids curved into a beautiful arc, and it was clear that he was in a very good mood.

After knowing each other for so many years, time had been very kind to Qi Yue. It had not left any traces on his face. He still looked young, even more attractive than before.

They did not go to the camp where Qi Yue had stayed before, but went straight to the grasslands. At night they slept directly in the space, which was both convenient and trouble-free.

Han Fei jumped down from the cockpit, put the helicopter away into the space, then took out an off-road jeep. The group changed vehicles.

The scenery on the grasslands was as beautiful as ever. The only difference was that the wild animals and trees had been affected by the environment and had undergone genetic mutations, becoming completely different from before, and they continued to change without stopping. Many animals had grown enormously in size and could no longer be named, so they could only be guessed at based on their habits.

After the vehicle had driven across the grasslands for only a short while, Qi Yue and the others gained quite a harvest. They encountered a herd of mutated wild cattle, each one as large as a car, with sharp horns on their heads.

The herd of wild cattle only had enhanced physical attacks. After a dazzling round of group ability attacks, aside from a few that escaped in the chaos, most of the others were hunted down by Yan Bin and the rest.

What surprised them was that the bloody smell given off by the cattle herd attracted an even larger creature. Its body was as huge as a small mountain, with thick limbs, a long tail, and spikes growing along its back. It looked more like a tyrannosaurus. No matter how Yan Bin and the others observed it, they could not determine what animal it had mutated from. Could the virus cause animals to revert to ancient forms?

Before long, a troublesome problem appeared. The skin of this dinosaur-like mutated beast was simply too thick, to the point that abilities could not pierce it.

“I’ll go try.” Qi Yue was eager to give it a shot.

The others exchanged glances and helplessly agreed. According to their wishes, they definitely would not want Qi Yue to take risks.

The others unleashed abilities at the mutated beast to draw its attention. Qi Yue drank an invisibility potion and quietly approached from the side, looking for an opportunity. Seeing Qi Yue hide his form, no one dared to recklessly use abilities. They only unleashed some moves at the ground in front of the beast that looked flashy but actually had little attack power.

Seeing that the people attacking it posed no real threat, the gigantic mutated beast moved its massive body and gradually advanced toward them.

The mutated beast was at least five meters tall. From a distance, Qi Yue thought its hide was similar to that of an elephant, but upon getting closer he realized it was completely different. The beast had a fine layer of fur growing on its body, the same color as its skin.

Qi Yue, holding a small knife, looked somewhat ridiculous standing beside the towering mutated beast. With a swing of his hand, he slashed toward the beast’s front leg. Qi Yue’s knife was very sharp and sliced into the beast’s hard skin in one stroke, but unfortunately the blade was too short to sever the entire leg, only cutting through the skin.

The mutated beast roared in pain, the sound so loud it carried far away. Its roar scared off many carnivorous animals that had been eyeing the carcasses of the wild cattle on the ground.

Seeing the beast injured, the others were afraid of hurting Qi Yue and did not dare to launch further attacks. They could only keep a close watch on the situation.

Seeing his first strike succeed, Qi Yue did not give the beast time to react and slashed at its hind leg again.

The mutated beast was completely enraged by Qi Yue’s actions. Since it could not detect who was attacking it, it could only spin in place, roaring loudly without stopping. Its long tail slapped the ground with loud cracks, and the earth seemed to tremble along with it. After turning several times without finding a target, the beast fixed its head toward the people who had attacked it earlier and moved toward Han Fei and the others.

Qi Yue calculated the rhythm of the beast’s tail swings and seized the moment, slashing at the beast’s tail.

The mutated beast stopped, turned its head to inspect its injured tail, and flicked it. With a crack, the tail broke off and fell to the ground, blood gushing out. The beast collapsed to the ground with a thud. It seemed that it relied on its tail to maintain balance.

Qi Yue had not expected this scene. Seeing the beast crash down, he slashed here and there across its body without any particular pattern, mapping it out. Before long, the fallen beast turned into a small red hill. Not long after, the unnamed gigantic mutated beast lay completely motionless. To be safe, Qi Yue added one final slash to its neck.

Qi Yue cut off a large chunk of meat from the beast, and the rest was put into Han Fei’s space.

Han Fei’s space continued to expand as his ability improved, but compared to Qi Yue’s space, there was still a large difference in area. This mutated beast alone occupied a considerable amount of space. Only a few of the wild cattle carcasses could be stored, and the rest could only be left to the carnivorous animals circling nearby.

Qi Yue happily pulled everyone into the space. Once inside, he could not wait to start cooking. After cleaning the meat, he first stir-fried a plate. He had once thought that meat from thick-skinned animals would not taste good, but after cooking and tasting it, the flavor was unexpectedly excellent, incredibly tender.

Even while cooking, Qi Yue did not forget to assign tasks to the others. The watermelons in the fields were ripe, and if the eggplants were not transplanted soon, they would become overripe. After promising a string of unequal conditions, he finally sent four unwilling people off to do the work.

After Qi Yue agreed to their conditions, each of them went to find tools to harvest vegetables and fruit. Thinking of the benefits they would get at night, they were full of energy.

Braised pork belly with fish, dried tofu stewed with meat, mustard chili oil garlic meat, spicy meat rolls, and several stir-fried vegetables. Unexpectedly, before all the dishes were finished, the ability that had been stagnant suddenly leveled up. It seemed that using different types of ingredients to cook was effective for speeding up advancement.

Qi Yue rushed into the small kitchen in excitement. On the counter, there was suddenly one more thing, a baking oven that looked very ordinary. Nothing special could be seen about it. In the past, his abilities had all been related to food. This time, was it going to be baking bread and making cakes.

The process of waiting for the cake to come out of the oven was both anxious and full of anticipation. Qi Yue sat eagerly in front of the oven, indulging in fantasies about the new skill.

Hahaha, take a guess what the new skill is.
