Rebirth in the Apocalypse: The Peach Blossom Debt Chapter 89

Lifting his head, he saw Han Fei leaning over that giant wall behind him, shouting at him with all his strength. Lin Yuze and Tang Ke were also beside him, releasing their abilities toward the ground.

Qi Yue panted slightly, dealing with the zombies forcing closer and closer, pulled out a water flask from his space and gulped down a large mouthful.

Yan Bin had just turned around, back facing Qi Yue, releasing ability strikes one after another. Lightning flashed and thunder roared, and the surroundings were filled with scorched, rotten corpses.

Seeing that the other party had no time to drink water, Qi Yue grew anxious and couldn’t think any further. He directly grabbed Yan Bin’s head, and mouth-to-mouth transferred the water into Yan Bin’s mouth.

Qi Yue transferred the water into the other’s mouth, then immediately turned his head back to continue dealing with the zombies.

It was only a brief moment, not even a gentle touch, even somewhat rough. Qi Yue’s lips were very soft, with a faint smell of smoke. Yan Bin quickly recovered his senses.

Several ropes had been lowered, enough for everyone to climb up. Seeing Qi Yue still shooting at the zombies, Yan Bin grabbed a rope and shoved it into Qi Yue’s arms.

“Go up.”

Qi Yue’s forehead was drenched with cold sweat. With no time to draw his knife, he held the gun directly and smashed the butt of it toward a zombie’s head. The zombie was forced back a step, brain matter flowing out from the side, but it still didn’t fall, wobbling forward again.

Qi Yue was pushed hard by Yan Bin, slamming into the wall. Seeing the zombies growing more and more in number around him, he reached into his space and grabbed beef, bit off a piece himself, then shoved the rest harshly toward Yan Bin’s mouth.

“Hurry, eat.” Qi Yue used one hand to smash a lunging zombie with the gunstock, urging him.

Yan Bin tilted his head in surprise and glanced at Qi Yue, that clean, handsome face full of anxiety, the hair on his forehead already soaked with sweat. Looking down at the food in front of him, he opened his mouth, allowing the other to roughly stuff it in.

The kitchen ability activated, and the two of them vanished out of thin air from within the encirclement of zombies.

Qi Yue tossed a rope to Yan Bin, without many words. With one strong pull, the people above forcefully hauled the rope upward.

Seeing the ropes thrown down from above on Yan Bin and Qi Yue’s side, Liao Feifan grew extremely anxious. Liu Yue was completely useless beside him, even a burden. That earlier unconscious push had caused Liu Yue to be bitten, and he regretted it, but how could someone normally so perceptive become so foolish in front of zombies?

Watching those two vanish into thin air, Liao Feifan grew agitated. His strong survival instinct made him yank the still-dazed Liu Yue behind him. After a chain of dazzling group attack skills, the area beside him was cleaned. He grabbed two ropes, tossed one to Liu Yue, and held one himself.

Liu Yue’s body was trembling slightly. The wound on her hand was already bleeding black, and the skin around it darkened. This was a sign of infection.

This Liao Feifan had actually done this to her, using her as a shield. Looking at the person beside her releasing abilities toward the zombies, hatred filled Liu Yue’s eyes.

The zombie horde grew agitated. They could no longer smell any trace of the two who had vanished, so they turned toward the scent of flesh coming from the abilities being released on the other side.

Liao Feifan, completely unaware, grabbed the rope with one hand and pulled on Liu Yue with the other. “Little Yue, get up quickly.”

People on the wall continued firing at full force toward this side, drawing the zombies’ attention. The zombies around had already been pushed back a little by Liao Feifan’s ability strikes.

Those above pulled the ropes upward hard, lifting their bodies higher and higher. Liao Feifan used abilities while curling his legs to dodge zombie claws. Just as he was about to relax, a red figure shot out from the zombie horde, rushing straight toward him.

The red-clothed zombie brushed past Liao Feifan’s face and grabbed directly at Liu Yue beside him.

Liao Feifan’s face was cut with a long mark by the zombie’s outstretched hand. His face felt cool. Reaching out to touch it, his hand came away covered in blood.

Liu Yue did not have such luck. Her body was cold, trembling, holding the rope. Her body was light, and she rose faster. Suddenly, a zombie appearing mid-air grabbed her thigh tightly, dragging her down with great force.

“Ah…”

Dragged downward, Liu Yue screamed. In the process of sliding down, she reached out and grabbed Liao Feifan beside her, then wrapped tightly around his waist.

Liu Yue clutched the last lifeline desperately, tilting her head up at him pitifully. “Feifan, save me.”

The rope struggled under the weight, not continuing upward, even starting to slide downward. Liao Feifan’s expression shifted unpredictably. He sent an ability strike toward the zombie clutching Liu Yue’s thigh. The zombie was hit in the chest and fell into the horde below.

Without the zombie’s drag, the rope rose again. But unexpectedly, the red-clothed zombie leapt again, grabbed Liu Yue’s foot, and bit down on her ankle.

Liu Yue screamed, “Pull me up, I am a healing ability user, hurry and pull me up.”

A shout came from above, “The rope is about to break.”

Liao Feifan’s eyes flickered with strange light, his face full of endless pain. “Little Yue…”

Liu Yue seemed to sense something, clung even tighter. “Feifan, I love you. We still have to be together in the future, don’t you remember? You love me too, don’t you?”

The red-clothed zombie’s body was blocked by Liu Yue, leaving Liao Feifan unable to aim. The rope shook dangerously in mid-air.

Another scream rang out. Liu Yue was dragged harder from below, her hands weakening, sliding downward.

Liao Feifan looked up and saw that the rope above was already severely frayed, about to snap at any moment. The ground below swarmed with zombies. Narrowing his eyes, he finally hardened his heart, pulled a knife from his waist, and slashed at the hand Liu Yue had wrapped around him.

Liu Yue fell into the zombie horde, her eyes wide open, staring at Liao Feifan, her expression twisted.

Yan Bin and Qi Yue were successfully pulled up. Because they had been touched mid-process, their figures had already become visible.

Just as Qi Yue was pulled up, before he could react, someone grabbed him tightly. The embrace was strong, almost suffocating. Their chests pressed together, he could feel the other’s violent heartbeat.

Liao Feifan climbed up in a disheveled state, half his face stained red with blood. He lay on the edge and looked down. Liu Yue had already been swallowed by zombies, her figure gone.

He turned his head and looked to the other side, at the pair hugging, and a trace of hatred flashed across his expression. His Liu Yue was dead because of them. They had food with invisibility effect, yet didn’t bring it out to save anyone. Such selfish people. Qi Yue, I will not forgive you.

He turned back and looked down at the overwhelming number of zombies, his fists clenching tight.
