Chapter 109 – Extra 4
<Previous Chapter<Table of Contents>Next Chapter>
Pei Yunshu is a freelancer, primarily working on writing articles, and his side job is as a scenic photographer. He loves various beautiful sceneries and leads a leisurely and lazy life. He never expected that in this lifetime, he would participate in a romance reality show called “Sweet Love in Progress,” featuring six amateur guests.
Early in the morning, just after he finished his morning routine, the program team arrived to deliver a mission card. Pei Yunshu’s smile seemed somewhat forced as he politely accepted the card, and the camera almost hit his eyes. The camera operator was exhilarated, exclaiming, “No matter how we shoot, it looks amazing! Director, I solemnly declare that the most visually appealing among the amateur guests is right here!”
The director couldn’t hide his excitement, and addressing Pei Yunshu, he became much more enthusiastic, “Yunshu, can I ask you three questions first? Don’t mind us, go ahead and eat!”
Pei Yunshu, feeling uncomfortable facing the camera, replied, “…Sure, go ahead.”
The program team asked, “The original plan was to have three men and three women among the amateur guests, but due to an unexpected incident, it’s now four men and two women. This means you might draw a male partner. Do you have anything to say about that?”
Pei Yunshu thought, “This show is really unreliable.”
His awkward expression amused the working girls; each of them, covering their mouths, burst into laughter. Pei Yunshu helplessly shrugged, “Well, let me clarify with the audience now… Oh, by the way, am I the first one to draw lots?”
Upon receiving confirmation from the production team, Pei Yunshu raised an eyebrow and then laughed good-naturedly, “So, I have a high chance of not drawing a male partner from the same profession. Of course, if I do, let me clarify in advance: I’m a straight guy.”
Confidently, Pei Yunshu placed the drawing box on the table, reached inside, pulled out a piece of white paper, and opened it. On the fair paper, there was only an exquisite image of a vibrant rose.
“However, a paper with a rose must belong to a girl,” Pei Yunshu muttered to himself. This remark was clearly recorded, and the crew’s expressions turned somewhat subtle. “Is this to remind me to bring a rose?” he added.
The program team asked, “Have you ever been in a relationship before?”
Blushing slightly, Pei Yunshu answered, “No.”
The director’s eyes lit up, and almost imagining how Pei Yunshu’s expression would attract a lot of attention, he made a lecherous sound, prompting Yunshu to quickly move to the recording studio, saying, “Yunshu, you also need to record some backstage footage before the show airs.”
“Okay,” Pei Yunshu nodded, getting up to change into a different outfit. When he came out, a crew member handed him a plastic dandelion, and Pei Yunshu, listening to the explanation, inserted the fake flower into his pocket, saying, “So my code name is Dandelion?”
The crew member nodded, smiling, “The flowers are also randomly assigned. Are you still sure the other person is a girl?”
Pei Yunshu, strangely confident, said, “I still think it’s a girl.”
On the way to the recording studio, the camera was almost never turned off. Pei Yunshu, dressed in a stylish outfit with a light shirt and beige pants, looked tall and handsome, and his overcoat added a touch of elegance. Even the photographer, who was over thirty with a face full of beard, couldn’t help but feel heartache at the waste of Pei Yunshu not having dated before.
The greenhouse was only a 20-minute walk from Pei Yunshu’s home. When he arrived, people were recording behind-the-scenes footage before the broadcast. He was arranged to wait on the sofa until they finished.
Inside the recording greenhouse:
The younger brother of the CEO, thrown here by the entertainment company invested in the program, sat in front of a black curtain with an inexplicably handsome face, his expression gloomy. His deep voice, filled with hostility and impatience, suppressed a growl, “Ask quickly.”
The interviewing staff shed tears at his low atmospheric presence.
“President Zhu,” a staff member, suppressing tears and forcing a business smile for the bonus, asked, “Why did you choose to participate in our program?”
Zhuyou, with a cold smile on his lips, responded in a low voice, “Don’t you know?”
The staff’s voice grew smaller, “Next question: do you think you will successfully find love on the show?”
“Impossible,” Zhuyou answered without hesitation, his current demeanor stern and heartless. It seemed he had absolute confidence in what he said. “I won’t develop feelings for anyone.”
The staff, unsure how to continue, awkwardly handed him a note, “Considering you are the last to record, all the other lots have been drawn, leaving only this one.”
Zhuyou impatiently pursed his lips, took the card, and casually glanced at it. A dandelion pattern was printed on it.
At this moment, the staff handed him a fake rose, saying, “Wish you a pleasant recording.”
Finally, it was over.
Zhuyou picked up the flower, showing no emotion, and walked out of the area. Seeing a trash bin nearby, he unhesitatingly tossed the card and rose into it, striding towards the exit.
Waiting outside, Pei Yunshu followed the staff inside. Many things inside the recording greenhouse were unfamiliar to him, and he looked around with great interest, occasionally nodding to remember these details, hoping they might become useful material for future writings.
Lost in thought, he accidentally bumped into someone exiting. His nose stung as he collided with his tear ducts. Covering his nose, Pei Yunshu struggled to get up and apologized in a muffled voice, “Sir, I’m sorry.”
The person he bumped into remained motionless, like a wall blocking his way. Pei Yunshu looked up and met Zhuyou’s gloomy gaze.
Zhuyou looked at the person in front of him, his breathing gradually becoming heavy. His gaze moved from the eyebrows and eyes to the reddened eyes and the slender fingers covering the nose. It felt as if something had hit him hard in the chest.
“Sir?” Pei Yunshu sniffled, slowly recovering, and worriedly asked, “Did I hurt you when we collided?”
“No, I’m fine,” Zhuyou stiffly spoke, and no one could see his awkwardness. “I’m saying, I’m sorry for causing you pain.”
The beating in his chest quickened, making Zhuyou suspect if something was wrong with him. However, he didn’t have the spare thoughts to care about himself. He reached out, intending to check the person’s nose in front of him, but feared that touching it might cause more pain.
This internal struggle made his expression even more indifferent. Pei Yunshu took a step back, and with a quick glance from his watery eyes, he quickly apologized again, “I will compensate you.”
It seemed like he had directly angered someone by colliding with them.
Zhuyou shook his head rapidly, “What’s your name?”
Pei Yunshu looked up at him in surprise, honestly saying, “My name is Pei Yunshu.”
Pei Yunshu.
Zhuyou’s gaze swept over him. Suddenly, his eyes paused at the dandelion in Pei Yunshu’s outer coat pocket. He raised his lips, “Sweet Love in Progress?”
Pei Yunshu pinched the cashmere on his sleeve, a bit embarrassed, and nodded.
Zhuyou stepped aside, signaled to the staff, and they continued walking forward. Zhuyou followed behind them. When the faint figure disappeared, he turned around. Walking quickly, he arrived at the trash bin. Without any hesitation, he started digging through the garbage.
Onlookers nearby: “….What the heck!”
Fortunately, the rose and the card were just at the top of the trash. Zhuyou picked up these two items, looked at them for a moment, and solemnly put them away.
***
The first episode of “Sweet Love in Progress” required the participants to move into the sweet house provided by the program, followed by two guests who needed to complete a common task.
When Pei Yunshu arrived at the Sweet House with his luggage, it was noon. He rang the doorbell, and within a few seconds, the door opened. A tall man, wearing an apron, came out, extending his hand to lift Pei Yunshu’s suitcase.
Feeling pleasantly surprised, Pei Yunshu said, “No need, no need. I can handle it myself. Are you a staff member here?”
The tall and handsome man, at his words, turned back and looked at Pei Yunshu with a mysterious expression. He casually pulled a rose from his pocket and twirled it stylishly between his fingers. “I am Rose.”
Pei Yunshu froze in place. After a while, he managed to force a smile, “Hello.”
He actually drew a male guest! QAQ
Wiping his face, Pei Yunshu bravely said, “Are you cooking? I smell something delicious.”
Zhuyou responded with a sound and led him to the kitchen. The closer they got, the stronger the fragrance became. Unable to resist, Pei Yunshu took a deep breath, noticing cameras from all directions. He quickly stabilized his expression.
Zhuyou, wearing a black turtleneck sweater, continued to cut vegetables. Pei Yunshu secretly observed him. It might be an illusion, but he felt like this gentleman looked like a model ready for a photoshoot, his perfect figure perfectly outlined by his clothes, exuding an invisible charm. Bluntly put – he was quite flirtatious.
“Do you like spicy food?” Zhuyou suddenly asked.
Pei Yunshu returned to his senses. “Uh, yes. Can I help with anything?”
Zhuyou looked at his hands and seemingly said offhandedly, “With such beautiful hands, it’s better not to touch these things.”
Pei Yunshu’s face turned “peng” red. His fingertips were burning, and he uncomfortably hid them in his sleeves. “No.”
Zhuyou’s gaze slid over his face. Then, as if unintentionally, he raised a small arc at the corner of his mouth.
After a while, Pei Yunshu finished exploring the surroundings. He felt impolite leaving Zhuyou alone in the kitchen. Awkwardly standing at the kitchen door, he asked, “Is there really nothing I can help with?”
Zhuyou pondered for a moment. “Not exactly. I haven’t had breakfast yet. There’s bread on the table. Can you feed me?”
“Oh,” Pei Yunshu happily ran to the table, grabbed some bread, and then approached Zhuyou. He offered the bread to Zhuyou’s lips and obediently fed him. “Do you want some jam too?”
The kitchen was clean and bright, with sunlight streaming through the windows, creating an atmosphere filled with a sweet fragrance.
During post-production, pink hearts piled up around the two slender figures, accompanied by the soundtrack of “Starting Love from Now,” instantly creating a sweet romantic atmosphere that made the single dog viewers teary-eyed.
[Divine looks!!! Why do these two match so well?! WSL]
[I cook, and you feed me. I won’t say much else. I just want to ask, President Zhu, are the words you said before the broadcast still valid?]
[Haha, isn’t this a face slap? President Zhu, who solemnly vowed that he would never fall for anyone, probably didn’t expect this, right?]
[Aren’t those little stars from Tianyu Entertainment saying that Little President Zhu is hard to approach? Does this scheming dog really want to get close to handsome Yunshu? Is it my eyes playing tricks on me?]
[Fast forward, fast forward, fast forward… I’m just here for this pair! I might end up licking my screen because of these faces.]
[So, we all know about Little President Zhu’s profession – the prince of Tianyu Entertainment. As for Yunshu, he is just introduced as a writer and photographer. Who is this writer and photographer? (:з」∠)]
[I don’t care about all that. Hey hey, I’m here for the behind-the-scenes footage. President Zhu seems to have genuine interest. I want to see if the steel-straight guy Pei Yunshu will also have genuine feelings.]
Pei Yunshu stuffed the last bite of the bread into Zhuyou’s mouth. Zhuyou rolled his tongue, briefly tasting Pei Yunshu’s fingertips.
“!”
Pei Yunshu quickly retracted his hand, as if scalded. Zhuyou looked at him puzzled, “What’s wrong?”
“…Nothing,” Pei Yunshu forced a nonchalant tone, trying hard to forget the strange sensation on his fingertips. “Do you want more to eat?”
Zhuyou nodded generously and pointed to a nearby lunchbox, “I forgot to tell you. There’s breakfast I brought. I thought if you hadn’t eaten, you could fill your stomach first.”
Pei Yunshu hurried over and saw dumplings, buns, and pan-fried dumplings, each with a few pieces, still warm. Surprisingly, they were all the breakfast items he liked.
Taking a soup dumpling and biting into it, he sucked in the soup. Then, he picked up a steamed dumpling and offered it to Zhuyou’s mouth. “Mmm, it’s so delicious!”
“This is from Fu Ji Breakfast Shop,” Zhuyou said as he watched Pei Yunshu’s eyes light up. A previously unknown joy surged in his heart. “Like it?”
Pei Yunshu nodded repeatedly, picking up another steamed dumpling and putting it in his mouth. “I like it, but I’m too lazy.” He smiled honestly. “Too lazy to go out.”
If it weren’t for taking photos, Pei Yunshu could stay at home for a long time, being a quiet word-processing robot.
Zhuyou put down the knife, wiped his hands with a towel, and said, “After finishing the task in the afternoon, I can take you to a well-known private kitchen for delicious cuisine. Interested?”
“Of course!”
When dinner was almost ready, Pei Yunshu was busy with bowls, chopsticks, and rice. Zhuyou leaned on the counter, half-turning his face to watch him.
He had taken off his outerwear, and the light-colored clothes couldn’t hide his beautiful figure. Occasionally, when he bent over, his rounded buttocks formed a perfect curve.
The curve around his waist was extremely delicate. Zhuyou, watching him, couldn’t help but roll his Adam’s apple, his gaze deepening.
He turned his head back and thought about the feeling of holding him in his arms, thinking that he needed to gain a bit more weight.
Having been a virgin for over twenty years, he felt impulsive for the first time, with all kinds of thoughts filling his mind.
Zhuyou surrendered without any resistance, directly raising both hands to accept the downfall.
The recording of “Sweet Love in Progress” lasted a whole month. In this month, he must bring the beauty back home.
