Early the next morning, Bian Rong came to find Pei Yunshu and knocked on the door. “Yunshu, are you awake?”

Sounds of movement could be heard inside the room. After a moment, someone opened the door, revealing a tall figure. With a face both handsome and otherworldly, there was a satisfied expression, “Whom are you looking for?”

“I’m looking for Brother Pei,” Bian Rong politely addressed the man, “Are you sharing the room with Brother Pei?”

“We share a bed,” Zhuyou squinted, emphasizing the word “bed,” “He’s still asleep.”

Every word from this man carried immense pressure. When Bian Rong stood in front of him, he felt an instinct deep within urging him to run. Despite his pride, Bian Rong wisely said, “I’m leaving today. I won’t disturb Brother Pei at this moment. Please convey my regards to him, my friend.”

Zhuyou nodded slightly, “Certainly.”

Bian Rong nodded back at him. Only after his figure completely disappeared did Zhuyou leisurely walk downstairs, carrying a bowl of porridge and a boiled egg back to the room, placing them on the table.

A musky and withering fragrance filled the room. Zhuyou found the scent pleasant, with a hint of Pei Yunshu’s fragrance. Therefore, he hesitated to open the window to let the air circulate.

Lifting the bed curtain, Zhuyou half-leaned on the bed. “Yunshu, eat something.”

Pei Yunshu responded with two “hmms,” sleeping peacefully with half of his face revealed on the silk pillow. Zhuyou brushed aside the strands of hair near his face, lowered his head, sucked in a breath of the reddened flesh on his cheek, and released a loud “pop” sound.

Startled by the noise, Pei Yunshu pushed Zhuyou’s face away with his hand. “Bad flood dragon… get away.”

Zhuyou directly lifted him up, and Pei Yunshu, alarmed by the sudden lift, woke up instantly. His eyes widened, looking bewildered as he found himself flying.

The porridge in the inn was thick, and Zhuyou fed him a spoonful every time he took a bite. When he had eaten half the bowl, Pei Yunshu pushed the bowl away, adopting a cold and dignified tone, “I’m full.”

Even after he was full, Zhuyou didn’t put him down. He continued to eat the remaining porridge, swallowing it down rudely with a few gulps.

After finishing the meal, Zhuyou carried Pei Yunshu back to bed, nuzzling his neck. Keeping his hands and feet obedient, saying “Yunshi.”.

Pei Yunshu responded with a cold acknowledgment.

After calling him four or five times, Pei Yunshu couldn’t maintain the cold expression any longer. He turned over, faced Zhuyou, and held Zhuyou’s face in his hands. He earnestly began to preach, “Engaging in such activities harms the body. Cultivators must not indulge in excessive desires.”

Zhuyou furrowed his brows, troubled. “But I’m feeling itchy.”

Pei Yunshu looked puzzled, “Then you must not have sincerely recited the Clear Heart Mantra.”

“…” Zhuyou spoke slowly, “With you around, why would I need to recite the Clear Heart Mantra?”

Pei Yunshu shook his head in an old-fashioned manner, “You’re a demonic beast. Perhaps you can indulge yourself a bit. I am a human cultivator, and mere… cannot compare to demonic beasts.”

Zhuyou patted his buttocks and succinctly said, “It’s good, it’s comparable.”

Pei Yunshu threw his hand away and couldn’t resist giving Zhuyou a glare. Climbing over him, he was about to get off the bed. “I can’t communicate with you!”

Zhuyou followed him off the bed, and for some reason, he seemed to be annoyed. Despite that, he still held Pei Yunshu in his arms, supporting his buttocks as if cradling a baby. He slapped him on the backside. “Not obedient. Can’t walk barefoot.”

Pei Yunshu made a muffled sound and buried his blushing face in Zhuyou’s embrace, struggling to articulate a response.

After Zhuyou dressed him according to his own preferences, Pei Yunshu was finally placed on the ground. Zhuyou walked out of the room.

Downstairs, Hua Yue and others were enjoying a whole chicken feast. Hearing the noise, they looked upstairs. Their smiles froze on their faces. “Yunshu, you…”

Pei Yunshu instinctively covered his neck, and his face instantly turned crimson. He glared at Zhuyou before turning his head, pretending to be calm. “I was bitten by insects.”

“No, no,” the people below stared at him in a daze, at a loss for words. “Yunshu, you’re really brightly dressed today…”

He looked exactly like a wealthy young master. The otherworldly aura from before was instantly shattered.

Pei Yunshu was taken aback. Only then did he raise his hand to take a look at himself. He was dressed in vibrant colors, adorned with hidden cloud patterns and auspicious symbols on the robe. The silver threads shimmered as he moved, exuding a natural air of wealth and elegance.

His brows twitched, and Zhuyou pushed him. “It looks good this way.”

“Indeed, it looks good.” Bai Lige scrutinized Pei Yunshu from head to toe, then took out a sparkling and translucent jade pendant from his sleeve. He walked up and hung it around Pei Yunshu’s waist. When the jade pendant touched the golden buckle on his clothes, a pleasant sound resonated. Bai Lige nodded in satisfaction, took a step back, and said, “Yunshu, these colors complement you even more than plain ones.”

Pei Yunshu felt uncomfortable being examined and stood frozen. Suddenly, Young Master Qingfeng’s cold voice interrupted, “The food is getting cold.”

The aroma of the dishes was enticing, much more delicious than plain porridge. Pei Yunshu continued to eat, and Zhuyou kept transmitting messages to him, “Avoid oily and spicy food, no meat, stick to light dishes.”

Pretending not to hear, Pei Yunshu skillfully went for the flavorful dishes, and Zhuyou couldn’t stop him, frowning deeply.

After three bites, Zhuyou grabbed his hand, pulled him onto his lap in front of everyone, and dipped the spicy meat slices into water. Taking a bite himself, he then offered the remaining half to Pei Yunshu.

Pei Yunshu turned his face away, “I don’t want to eat what you’ve eaten.”

Zhuyou put the meat in his mouth, set down the chopsticks, lifted Pei Yunshu’s chin, and fed him mouth to mouth.

After two rounds of this, the blushing figure in his arms behaved obediently, eating the bitten pieces of food.

The people at the table were dumbfounded. Zhuyou’s meticulous care for Pei Yunshu made it seem like he treated him like a delicate porcelain doll, ensuring he wasn’t cold or hot.

“Zhuyou, aren’t you afraid Yunshu will be disgusted by you?”

Zhuyou fed Pei Yunshu a sip of tea. Pei Yunshu obediently opened his mouth, with a red tongue hiding behind his lips, teasing others’ souls with a hint of mystery.

Unable to resist, Zhuyou moved away the delicious food that Pei Yunshu was eagerly watching and pecked his own lips, asking, “Is it delicious?”

Pei Yunshu’s eyes were misty due to being teased.

After giving another kiss, Zhuyou fed Pei Yunshu again and casually remarked, “After forming the mutual vow, even if you regret it, you can’t take it back.”

As soon as the words fell, the sudden sound of dishes and chopsticks shattering echoed.

Pei Yunshu’s ears turned red instantly, choked by saliva, “Cough, cough, cough…”

How did he blurt it out so suddenly!

Hua Yue muttered, “Mutual vow… it’s over, it’s over, the mutual vow.”

In this trio, only Bai Lige remained relatively calm. Young Master Qingfeng silently cleaned up the broken dishes and chopsticks on the floor, whispering, “Congratulations.”

Zhuyou patted Pei Yunshu’s back and, for once, showed a pleasant expression towards Young Master Qingfeng, nodding with a smile.

“Now that the covenant is formed,” Bai Lige smiled, walked behind Zhuyou, and patted Zhuyou’s shoulder like a good brother, “does King Zhuyou have any thoughts of marrying Yunshu?”

His palm landed like a heavy mountain, and Zhuyou calmly shouldered the impact. When he heard the word “marriage,” his eyes suddenly lit up, and he held Pei Yunshu’s hands tightly, murmuring absentmindedly, “Marriage?”

Bai Lige’s expression darkened, and his cheerful demeanor couldn’t conceal a hint of threat. “Zhuyou, don’t tell me you never considered marrying Yunshu.”

Pei Yunshu was stunned by the word “marriage.” He hadn’t recovered yet, gazing at Bai Lige in confusion, “Marriage?”

Bai Lige softened his expression, gently patting Pei Yunshu’s black hair. “Yunshu, do you not want to marry Zhuyou?”

“…” Pei Yunshu had never thought about such a thing.

Zhuyou’s breathing became heavier, and his eyes turned reddish. He looked like he was about to go crazy. Firmly, he nodded, articulating each word, “I want to marry wife.”

Pei Yunshu struggled to stand up but was overwhelmed by the sudden declaration. He sat dazed in Zhuyou’s lap, wondering what Zhuyou was talking about.

Marriage? Who with whom?

Bai Lige, hands behind his back, revealed a loving smile, “Zhuyou, put down Yunshu first and ask if he’s willing to marry you.”

Zhuyou swallowed hard, stood up, and placed Pei Yunshu back in his seat. Squatting in front of him, he looked at him with anticipation. “Yunshu, marry me.”

His heart was pounding as if it were about to leap out of his throat. Within a short span of time, his hands were already sweating. Zhuyou’s eyes were deep and filled with urgency. Despite his stern appearance, he seemed awkward, eagerly awaiting Pei Yunshu’s nod.

The surroundings fell silent, and Pei Yunshu felt as if he were in a vortex. His ears were ringing, and he struggled to close and open his eyes, attempting to see Zhuyou’s expression in the whirlpool.

“Yunshu,” full of anticipation and hoarseness, “marry me.”

Only this sentence broke through myriad obstacles and mist, distinctly reaching Pei Yunshu’s ears.

Summoning courage from somewhere, Pei Yunshu suddenly took a deep breath, lifted Zhuyou’s face with his hands, steadily approaching, and then planted a resounding kiss on his cheek.

“Okay, let’s get married!”

He was going to start a family, become someone with a home.

A new family, beloved family, a family that would never be separated.

They chose the wedding location that day, opting for the bustling and prosperous Jiangnan region.

Traveling along the river, they made stops like an ordinary family, enjoying the journey full of joy.

Upon reaching their destination, Hua Yue took Pei Yunshu to the market. “Yunshu, I’ve been wanting to see you in a wedding dress. It must be a sight I, the fox, will love. But Lord Zhuyou is too cunning, deceiving you into forming the mutual vow. In the end, you still have to wear a wedding dress for him.”

“I’ve never worn one before. I don’t know if it will look good,” Pei Yunshu’s heart was fluttering on this journey. “Hua Yue, can we really find wedding attire here?”

Hua Yue confidently patted his chest, “Yunshu, there’s a saying among mortals: ‘Money can move mountains.’ We have money, and you can have any kind of wedding dress you want!”

Pei Yunshu nodded hesitantly, took a deep breath, and covered his trembling hands with his sleeves. “Then, let’s go take a look.”

With Hua Yue by his side, Pei Yunshu looked around. Hua Yue’s eyes twinkled, and he chuckled, saying something quietly in Pei Yunshu’s ear, “Yunshu, how about making Lord Zhuyou wear a wedding dress?”
