Chapter 36

Fu Xuezhou called out Lou Yan’s name.

Lou Yan was not surprised by Fu Xuezhou’s appearance here; it was something he had anticipated long ago. But when his name was pronounced by Fu Xuezhou with a smiling, deliberate enunciation, Lou Yan felt his heart skip a beat.

Before the red coffin was closed, Li Sanxin and a few others called out Lou Yan’s name anxiously. Obviously, that b*stard heard that call.

Lou Yan glanced deeply at Fu Xuezhou, then looked away, propping himself up on the bed and sitting down beside it, about a meter away from Fu Xuezhou’s position.

Ignoring Fu Xuezhou was the best Lou Yan could do.

The hatred and murderous intent in his heart were still boiling madly. Whenever he saw Fu Xuezhou, he would shout, “Kill him! Kill him!” But Lou Yan knew rationally that it wasn’t the time to deal with Fu Xuezhou now.

So he sat calmly, pretending that Fu Xuezhou was a stranger.

Fu Xuezhou watched Lou Yan with interest throughout, seemingly curious about Lou Yan’s reaction.

But Lou Yan didn’t even bother to spare Fu Xuezhou a glance. His entire face was expressionless, staring straight ahead as if Fu Xuezhou didn’t exist.

The dim room, the old furniture, the ancient bed draped in yellow and white curtains, and the two men sitting on the bed in festive attire—everything about the scene was strange, especially the two men on the bed, who didn’t look like a couple about to get married but more like enemies.

Lou Yan had just finished bathing, and his whole body was enveloped in a mist of water vapor. His features looked even more refreshing under the mist, but his eyes and brows were still dark, and his lips were still red, stimulating the eyes with their bold colors. He had never worn a long shirt before, let alone such a bright red one. At this moment, he sat quietly, looking like a painting.

Fu Xuezhou also saw his clean face, devoid of oiliness, and his indifferent attitude towards him.

Fu Xuezhou raised an eyebrow slightly and leisurely played with the red veil in his hand. Against the bright red veil, his hand looked even paler, without a trace of color. He said casually, “You’re missing something.”

Lou Yan immediately turned his head to look at him, almost instantly fixing his gaze on the red veil in Fu Xuezhou’s hand—this red veil was obviously meant for the “bride”.

His watch reminded Lou Yan that there were only ten seconds left until the auspicious time.

F*ck.

Without hesitation, Lou Yan lunged at Fu Xuezhou, reaching out to grab the red veil from Fu Xuezhou’s hand.

His movement was unexpected, and in the blink of an eye, he grabbed a corner of the red veil. But Fu Xuezhou had been prepared, and he firmly held onto the red veil, preventing Lou Yan from grabbing it. Not only did Lou Yan fail to grab the red veil, but he also ended up falling into Fu Xuezhou’s arms.

Fu Xuezhou raised his hand to hold Lou Yan’s shoulder, preventing him from escaping, while his other hand moved the red veil away. All of this happened in a matter of seconds. The silver-haired man lowered his head slightly, smiling and saying, “Tell me your name.”

He clearly knew Lou Yan’s name, but he still forced Lou Yan to tell him personally—

This was deliberately forcing Lou Yan to submit!

A flame of anger ignited on Lou Yan’s face, making his face even more beautiful and sharp. He gritted his teeth and reached out again, trying to grab the red veil.

But his fingertips were ten centimeters away from the red veil, just a finger’s length, but Fu Xuezhou’s strength firmly suppressed Lou Yan, making it seem like an insurmountable barrier.

Lou Yan’s still-damp hair dampened a small piece of cloth on Fu Xuezhou’s body. Fu Xuezhou glanced at this piece of cloth and then at Lou Yan’s watch, teasingly moved the red veil further away. He smiled slightly and said, “5, 4, 3…”

He was counting down to the arrival of the auspicious time.

“Lou… Yan,” Lou Yan’s expression was blank, his speech speed extremely fast, “my name.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the red veil fell from the air and covered Lou Yan’s head. Lou Yan’s vision immediately plunged into a dark red.

The next second, the door creaked open, and something came in. Lou Yan’s sight was blocked by the red veil, and he couldn’t see anything. He could only stare at the ground through the gap at the bottom of the veil.

Footsteps sounded, and soon, Lou Yan saw a pair of feet appear under the red veil.

These feet were wearing dark brown old cloth shoes, with the toes touching the ground and the heels raised, just like the feet of a hanged person naturally hanging down.

Lou Yan didn’t blink, watching as the feet walked up to him, using the tips of the toes to stand in front of him.

“Let this old woman check whether the groom and bride have properly cleaned themselves.” The eerie voice was sharp and sarcastic. As soon as the words fell, Lou Yan felt a chill.

This chill made his goosebumps rise, and a pair of dry and elderly hands reached up through the red veil and touched Lou Yan’s head. Lou Yan subconsciously wanted to retaliate, but he remembered he only had 23 points of mental strength left and forcibly suppressed all his movements.

The hands checked Lou Yan’s veil, then moved to inspect his clothes and the exposed skin. Lou Yan couldn’t help but feel fortunate that he had bathed quite thoroughly. After a full minute without finding any errors, the hands withdrew and began to inspect Fu Xuezhou.

Soon, the eerie voice rang out coldly, “Why is there a wet spot on the groom’s clothes?”

Lou Yan immediately looked on with indifference, even hoping for a confrontation between the anomaly and Fu Xuezhou.

However, Fu Xuezhou replied, “The bride got it wet.”

Lou Yan: “…”

How is this any of his business?

The eerie figure chuckled sinisterly and asked, “Bride, why did you wet the groom’s clothes?”

Lou Yan was pondering how to answer when Fu Xuezhou lightly laughed again and replied in a whimsical tone, “For marital fun.”

Under the red veil, Lou Yan couldn’t help but sneer.

To h*ll with marital fun.

But it seemed that the anomaly accepted this explanation. Suddenly, the eerie voice turned from sinister to cheerful, “Then please lift the bride’s veil, groom!”

The red veil covering Lou Yan’s eyes was suddenly lifted off, revealing Fu Xuezhou’s handsome face. Lou Yan glanced around and saw a short figure standing in the middle of the room.

This old woman was barely over a meter tall, with facial features randomly distributed as if melted, eyes unevenly spaced, mouth below the nose. Her eyes had no pupils, only whites, and her arms, over a meter long, hung down on either side of her body, just touching the ground.

The old woman’s face twisted into a grotesque smile, revealing a mouthful of large yellow teeth. As she spoke, a rotten smell emanated from her mouth, “Bride and groom, get into bed quickly.”

Lou Yan was stunned, get into bed?

Yes, how could the bride and groom not lie in bed together?

Except, the one he needed to lie in bed with was Fu Xuezhou, whom he wanted to tear apart.

Lou Yan didn’t move, and neither did Fu Xuezhou. The expression on the old woman’s face became increasingly ugly, with her eyes, full of whites, growing larger and larger. Blood began to flow from her eyes, winding down her grotesque, wrinkled face. “Why aren’t the bride and groom obeying?”

As soon as blood started to flow from her eyes, the candlelight in the room began to flicker violently. The entire room gradually turned into a red light.

“Drip, drip.”

Even the deep red furniture in the room began to ooze blood.

What was originally a room devoid of joy, not resembling a bridal chamber at all, suddenly became filled with a lot of “red” that seemed fitting for the occasion.

Not good.

Lou Yan could feel that the room was becoming dangerous.

He turned his head to look at Fu Xuezhou, who, upon noticing, also turned his head to look at Lou Yan.

The silver-haired man lazily drooped his eyelids, and a dark shadow fell under his long lashes. There was no hint of tension on Fu Xuezhou’s face; he was even leisurely playing with the red veil. After locking eyes with Lou Yan, he even gave a faint smile.

It seemed that he was not worried about what would happen next at all, nor was he afraid of the current eerie situation.

Of course, he was Fu Xuezhou, how could he be afraid?

Maybe he had already experienced this scene before.

But Lou Yan couldn’t afford not to listen to the eerie figure’s words. After all, with his limited mental strength and his injuries, he was simply unable to cope with this dangerous world.

So…

Lou Yan suddenly moved, he grabbed Fu Xuezhou’s collar and forcefully pushed him down onto the bed. Fu Xuezhou’s silver hair scattered messily on the red silk bedsheet. Before he could get up, Lou Yan swiftly pressed down on Fu Xuezhou’s body, cleverly using his body weight to restrain Fu Xuezhou’s limbs.

Lou Yan smiled charmingly, his voice gentle as he said, “It’s late, we should go to sleep.”

But under the cover of their clothing and bodies, the bride secretly held a dagger against the groom’s abdomen.

This dagger was hidden under the pillow by Lou Yan after he finished bathing, just in case it was needed at a critical moment.

The anomaly nodded in satisfaction, its grim expression momentarily returning to normal. It then cheerfully said, “Wishing the bride and groom a good night’s sleep!”

With that said, it danced on tiptoes and walked away.

Lou Yan glanced at the gradually retreating figure of the anomaly, maintaining his smile. He silently warned the person beneath him with his mouth, “Don’t move.”

The expression and words of command carried a sense of danger, completely different from the obedient Lou Yan in Fu Xuezhou’s memory. Fu Xuezhou ignored his warning and tilted his head slightly, saying, “Do you want to use this to kill me? You know it won’t kill me.”

“Lou Yan,” Fu Xuezhou said again, softly uttering these two words on his tongue, “I’m curious, how did you become like this?”

Lou Yan understood the meaning behind his words. Fu Xuezhou was asking why Lou Yan’s behavior in this life was so different from the respectful and obedient demeanor he had shown in previous lives.

Lou Yan’s fist itched, wishing he could punch Fu Xuezhou’s annoying face. But just as the anomaly was about to reach the door, it stopped and looked back at the two of them, observing their actions with suspicion.

Lou Yan calmly lowered the dagger to the most vulnerable part of the man’s body.

He revealed a charming smile, his lips curved, his complexion glowing under the wedding attire. His eyes were full of malicious smiles as he lowered his head and whispered softly in Fu Xuezhou’s ear, “I know this won’t kill you, Fu Xuezhou, but it will make you feel very happy.”

Lou Yan chuckled softly. He knew the anomaly could hear him, even if his voice was quiet.

“I also know that you can quickly recover from injuries, but I think you won’t like the feeling of missing a piece here, right?”

Lou Yan pressed his hand downward, and the tip of the dagger pricked Fu Xuezhou’s skin through his clothes. “My hand might be heavy, I don’t know if it’ll hurt you, but even if it does, you wouldn’t mind, right?”

Fu Xuezhou frowned slightly, saying seriously, “I do mind.”

The anomaly didn’t seem to notice anything and left the room with a smile.

The door closed again, leaving only the two people on the bed.

Lou Yan grinned slyly and lightly slapped Fu Xuezhou’s face, “Then you better behave. Kid, when I tell you not to move, you d*mn well don’t move, got it?”
