Eldest Senior Brother’s face turned pale for a moment, but it quickly returned to its original state. He tried to force a smile, but it lacked genuine warmth. “Junior Brother, but I understand what you mean.”

The smile faded, and Yunjing looked deeply at Pei Yunshu. Then, he turned to their Grandmaster and said, “Junior Brother Yunshu possesses exceptional talent and beauty, even among our sect’s disciples. But I’m afraid we may never see Junior Brother’s smiling face again.”

Their Grandmaster remained aloof.

“It’s not just the smile,” Yunjing said. “I’m afraid, in Junior Brother’s heart, both Master and I have become strangers.”

Finally, Venerable Wuwang glanced at him, and with a flick of his white sleeve, he wrapped Yunjing and flew off into the distance.

“His inner demon has awakened,” Grandmaster said. “I have sent him to the Repentance Cliff. Lingye, arrange for someone to help him overcome his inner demon.”

Sect Leader Lingye responded with a solemn “yes.”

Cultivators feared inner demons the most. Yunjing had outstanding talent and was considered one of the most promising among the younger generation. Shanshui Sect valued him greatly. If they couldn’t help him overcome his inner demon, his future cultivation would be incredibly difficult.

Why had the inner demon arisen in the first place? Sect Leader Lingye glanced at Pei Yunshu and sighed inwardly.

After giving these instructions, Venerable Wuwang said, “You may leave.”

Sect Leader Senior Brother then took Pei Yunshu and Yunman back down to the lower levels.

Venerable Wuwang didn’t look their way.

On his table, there was a glass of fine alcohol. The alcohol had a beautiful color and a delicate fragrance.

He silently looked at the alcohol for a while, then picked up the glass and gave it a gentle shake.

The liquid inside rippled, and in the next moment, a scene appeared within the glass.

Pei Yunshu’s face appeared in the water mirror. The glass was only big enough to hold one person, and it only reflected him.

Venerable Wuwang shook the glass gently, and Pei Yunshu’s features suddenly enlarged.

Those eyes, still clear, with long and dense eyelashes, lowered gently, casting a shadow.

The outer corners of the eyes, pale and dark, clean and deep.

With another shake of the glass, the image changed, showing a pair of soft lips.

Whether it was a trick of Venerable Wuwang’s imagination or not, those lips seemed to have swollen slightly, as if they had been rubbed repeatedly with fingertips, full and perfectly shaped.

Venerable Wuwang looked down for a long time, then brought the glass to his lips. His lips lightly touched the alcohol, and he took a sip, draining the glass.

Pei Yunshu suddenly had a feeling of being watched.

He looked around but found nothing suspicious. He used his spiritual power to scan the surroundings but still found nothing.

Frowning, he continued to stay alert for any changes around him.

The event had already begun, with young talents engaging in exciting battles on various platforms. Pei Yunshu watched attentively and felt that he had gained a lot from observing their techniques.

When he and Zhuyou returned to Three Day Peak together that evening, Pei Yunshu was still deep in thought, considering strategies used in his senior brothers’ battles. Seeing how focused he was, Zhuyou didn’t make any advances and they safely reached the halfway point up the mountain.

Hua Yue was waiting in the courtyard. When he saw them return, he rushed to Pei Yunshu’s feet, his paws clutching his slender leg, and he exclaimed, “Yunshu Beauty, my Beauty Yunshu!”

Pei Yunshu was startled from his thoughts and looked in amazement at Hua Yue by his feet. He was thrilled and exclaimed, “Hua Yue, you can talk?”

Pei Yunshu was amazed and delighted. “Hua Yue, you can speak?”

Hua Yue wagged his two tails proudly. “After all, I’m a fox Beauty. Beauties always have good luck.”

Pei Yunshu’s eyes were filled with a smile. He turned to look at Zhuyou and realized that Zhuyou was setting up a barrier, which was considerate of him.

Bai Lige came out of the house carrying two jugs of alcohol. With a light touch of his finger, two fire pits ignited in the courtyard, and the stone table was now filled with earthly delicacies.

The warm yellow light cast its glow on the green plants. Although there were no birds singing or insects chirping, there was a unique sense of comfort in the air.

Pei Yunshu sat down with Hua Yue in his arms and said with a smile, “Is this a celebration because Hua Yue can speak now?”

Bai Lige shook his head solemnly. “We will be leaving in a few days. How can we spend our time carelessly before we go? Today, I brought our little fox grandchild down the mountain, so we naturally had to bring back some fine alcohol and delicacies to enjoy together.”

He reached into his robe, and Pei Yunshu noticed his action, curious. “What else did you bring?”

Hua Yue buried its head in Pei Yunshu’s chest, looking embarrassed.

Bai Lige took out two albums of erotic paintings and said seriously, “The other day, it seemed like you didn’t believe me. So, I specifically looked for two albums of authentic erotic paintings drawn by artists at the foot of the mountain. I want you to see for yourself whether what I said was true or false.”

Pei Yunshu was in the middle of drinking tea and choked when he heard this. He turned away, and Zhuyou patted his back, his eyes carrying a hint of reproach.

Bai Lige was puzzled. “What did I do wrong?”

Zhuyou frowned and said, “Why did you take them out while he was drinking tea?”

“Right,” Bai Lige put the erotic paintings away, understanding the logic of the wise demon king. “Let’s wait until after dinner, and Yunshu can take them to his room to have a look.”

Pei Yunshu had just stopped coughing when he was given a pair of chopsticks. Before he could refuse, Zhuyou handed him a piece of meat. Then another piece followed.

Zhuyou’s eyes gleamed as he watched Pei Yunshu. Pei Yunshu swallowed the piece of meat and another chopstick quickly appeared.

“… You don’t have to feed me,” he said with a touch of helplessness, eating the food again.

Zhuyou’s chopsticks, still holding a piece of meat, hovered in mid-air. After hearing Pei Yunshu’s words, he lowered his eyes. “Don’t like it?”

Seeing a hint of sadness, Pei Yunshu realized that he had probably imagined it himself. After all, Zhuyou’s face showed no expression, but just thinking about it softened his heart. He could only open his mouth and accept another piece of meat.

Two jugs of alcohol were shared among the three demons and human, but Pei Yunshu couldn’t handle alcohol, so he just tasted the alcohol. The warm firelight created a cozy atmosphere, and he couldn’t help but smile throughout the meal.

After they had their fill, Hua Yue had already fallen asleep in an alcohol jug.

Bai Lige and Zhuyou quietly competed in drinking, pulling out jug after jug from their storage bags. They didn’t change their expressions as they drank cup after cup.

Pei Yunshu picked up Hua Yue and wiped away the alcohol and oil from its face before placing it on the small bed. Hua Yue opened its eyes in a daze, and suddenly, it clung to Pei Yunshu’s arm and whimpered, “Beauty Yunshu, do you really like Lord Zhuyou?”

Pei Yunshu was taken aback.

But Hua Yue released his paw and fell back onto the bed.

Pei Yunshu stood still for a long time before turning back to his room.

A pool of warm water was already prepared. His clothes and hair were now soaked in alcohol smell.

He knew that these feelings were merely a result of the red powder’s effects. Pei Yunshu had never truly liked anyone, be it a person or a demon. He had accidentally experienced a feeling of infatuation with Zhuyou due to the strange circumstances, but when the powder lost its effect, he should return to his normal state.

Pei Yunshu removed his robe and submerged himself in the water, the steam rising and filling the room with a hazy mist.

Suddenly, the door creaked open, and Pei Yunshu turned to look.

“Who’s there?” Amidst the humid mist, a figure slowly entered.

A figure gradually entered the room amidst the damp mist. He got closer and closer, and his hair became damp with the room’s moisture. The striking facial features of Zhuyou in his human form were now clearly visible.

Pei Yunshu asked, “How did you get in?”

Seeing that it was Zhuyou, he relaxed a bit. However, he quickly realized that something was wrong. In this moment, facing Zhuyou, he no longer felt that pounding sensation in his heart.

His pulse was steady, his breath calm, and there was no trace of embarrassment. It seemed that, in front of Zhuyou at this moment, he felt the same way as he did with other people.

Had the powder lost its effect?

Pei Yunshu suddenly felt a tinge of disappointment.

Zhuyou’s gaze remained fixed on him, and Pei Yunshu didn’t know what he was thinking. In this form, Zhuyou was not using his original appearance. Only his deep black eyes slid down slowly from his face to his neck.

Feeling uncomfortable under his gaze, Pei Yunshu sank into the water, and after his chin touched the surface, he said lowly to Zhuyou, “I’m bathing right now. If you have something to discuss, wait until I’m done.”

His fair skin, black hair floating, and the water misty and warm.

Beneath the mist, the water droplets slid smoothly, warm and gentle, and his face now carried a warmth it hadn’t known during daylight.

Despite his vigilance, he appeared as radiant as a flower.

Zhuyou curved a faint smile and softly called out, “Senior Brother Yun Shu, is it good if your junior brother washes your back for you?”

Pei Yunshu was momentarily taken aback. “What did you call me?”

Zhuyou raised an eyebrow, his lips slightly parting with a playful smile. “Senior Brother Yun Shu.”
